Are mixed-race folk not black enough for you? SMH.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."

LOL. No, sorry. Typing that on my phone I realized it came out wrong when I hit send. What I *meant* by that was that Mya (as amazing as she is) looks nothing like, say, Oprah. And when she played Oprah it looked like a white woman playing Oprah. Kind of.
So what I MEANT was that it's just been decades since Ellen Cleghorne that an black actress, not a mixed race actress, was on the show.
No harm no foul, Jordan. I agree with you that it's weird not to have any people of color (or queer-identified folks) with so many new cast members.

I know Kate is out. (We went to college together.) I was referring to the six new cast members.

I did not feel the same way about this premiere. The monologue seemed like a throwaway and misuse of Tina. The Girls sketch was pretty hilarious as was the Manolo Blonddicks but the rest were meh. The taxidermy sketch was unbearable. I also was over the whole "look at all these new people" crap. It's weird to think that Keenan is the oldest cast member on the show now.
It seemed to me that at least one of those new guys was gay.
"Pardon my prior Mcfee slip. I know how to spell her name. I just don't know how to type it." -Talulah
I liked the premiere and I agree with most people on here that it was one of the better episodes. It was great to have Tina back and I think Cecily will become a terrific anchor as the weeks go by.
I really don't know why Queer-Identified people would even be in the mix. Kate is and it is NEVER mentioned. Why should it be? It is a comedy show. They don't ask in the audtion process, which do you prefer? Who the f knows, and why should we care?
ETA: I do however agree with the lack of Black, Asian or Hispanic female cast members. Any of which MIGHT be Queer Identified (?!)
Those Blocked: SueStorm. N2N Nate. Good riddence to stupid! Rad-Z, shill begone!
Agreed that it's...well, disturbing...that there are hardly any minority-race cast members. An opportunity to hire six new players and ALL of them are white? What's the deal, Lorne?
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

im wondering when they will have some Eastern European cast members. also, almost everyone in the cast is a brunette, only 2 blondes and no redheads. this does not reflect the population of this country.

Um, it's a comedy show...what's to wonder about?!
"Carson has combined his passion for helping children with his love for one of Cincinnati's favorite past times - cornhole - to create a unique and exciting event perfect for a corporate outing, entertaining clients or family fun."
Doodle, with others crying about the racial and sexual orientation of the casts not representing all of America, i wanted to make sure my people would be well represented as well! (i was joking and making fun of those ridiculous comments)

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
Oh, Miley. Even openly making fun of yourself on SNL doesn't change the fact that you still creep me the f*ck out. And I can smell your stank through the TV.
