I'm planning to take my mom out for a show this summer since she is really looking foward to Godspell or A Tale of Two Cities. Other than that, I am thinking of baking a personalized cake for Sunday.
Ivan's mom is in Hawai'i until the 13. We're making her dinner on the 14th.
Lunch and a movie.
We decided to make it quiet and easy. My housewarming party is the following week, which will be a bit nuts!
A quiet day @ home as my Mom died quite sometime ago & Mrs R's died last June. This will be her first Mothers Day without her.
Have fun with your mom . The cake sounds great also.
Mr. Roxy- I'm so sorry and thanks, I've learning to appreciate her more lately.

Taking my mother to see Gypsy, of all shows.
I mailed my mom some housewares crap I got at that TJ Maxx on 6th avenue this weekend. She'll never know.
And I also sent a card--from Duane Reade. I mean, it's the least I could do. Literally.
I'm not doing anything. I'm still at school and I'm in the middle of finals. I'll be writing a paper and studying all day Sunday. I will take a break to call my mom though.
I work from 8:30am-12:30pm. We should be doing lunch or something though after that. My dad's cousin is coming too for the week, but that is for other reasons. And I don't know if we are all going to see my 1 grandmother or if it's just my parents and dad's cousin. I know I sound horrible, but she is 1 person I don't care to visit. She doesn't like me when we're not at my house, but when she's here she'll be kissing my butt. She also lies all the time, and was caught on Easter. She also is not invited to stay here anymore either because nobody can trust her.
Ouch, well I'm glad I'm over my "dear mommy, here choke on this bone" phase! Now its on to "dear sister, have a hand right into this puddle of mud" phase. I'm somehow never able to get along with both of them at the same time...
I'm helping my mom with a church function she has to organize (I think it's absurd that it's on Mother's Day though) and then helping to make dinner. I'll probably make some kind of dessert.
nothing. shell forget about mothers day until like a month later and then call me and nag about how i didnt remind her...

I was thinking about making her breakfast...I found this recipe last week for fluffy pancakes that is ridiculously yummy. Also wanted to plan something fun, but she's working. Oh well.
xoangel- You should try a breakfast in bed type thing. You could add berries as a topping for the pancakes (depending on her tastes) and maybe even put it on a try with a rose in a vase and a cup of her favorite coffee or juice. Yeah, I have a tendency of going overboard sometimes...
Wow, some people on here missed out on their mommy and me classes! Heck, I'll probably be in the same boat a week from now so I probably shouldn't jinx myself...
You sound like a good daughter!
That or I'm 19 and have 4 years of mistakes to make up for!
Lol just kidding, sort of... I've simply realized how much I've put my mom through over the years and realize that blame isn't usually so one-sided when one wants to give it.
I'm working in the morning and then heading to my Aunt's house in Eastern LI for a BBQ.

osage: thanks for the tips...my mom hates food outside of the kitchen though, but she does love berries. And roses. And juice.
Still gotta figure out if I'm seeing her this weekend.

i ordered an azalea bonsai for my mom & a bouganvalia bonsai for my sister to be delivered today.
(i used the A CATERED AFFAIR discount!)
My mother's in Florida, so I've sent her a vase full of tulips, some tulip kitchen towels, and a large tulip photo of mine.
I love tulips and now she does!
The one drawback of using those florist delivery companies is that you get email from them every day.
Oddly enough, I'll be embarking on a cruise to Alaska with my father on Mother's Day.

Nothing. My mother moved to GA 3 years ago.
My godmother, who's been more of a mom to me anyway, will be in FL visiting HER mom, but I put together a whole gift bag for her and gave it to her before she left.

I should be off, and Dad is grilling out.
And we may watch Legally Blonde the Musical off the DVR.

I bought tickets to see Gypsy together for the 27th as a late present, and tickets to No, No, Nanette for tomorrow. We like spending the day in the city together.
Finally seeing AUGUST: OSAGE. Twice I've lost tickets, during the stagehand strike and then around the holidays. Is it the best material or what?
