Happy to see COME FROM AWAY doing another year. The non-equity tour is selling extremely well and they sold out all five shows at the NJ State Theater last weekend.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Cincinnati's announcement makes me think Company will not get a second year on tour. We almost always get shows by their second year. I think if it was still going to tour we would have gotten it over one of the return engagements (CFA and Les Mis)

From what I've heard about the capacity house % and overall grosses... this doesn't surprise me.
Philly announced prior to a full season announcement that Hamilton will return to Philadelphia (October 29th-November 23rd 2024) and MJ The Musical will make its Philly premiere [January 9th-January 15th 2025]. Both will be playing the Academy of Music.
The full season will likely be announced mid March-early April.
"Anybody that goes to the theater, I think we’re all misfits, so we ended up on stage or in the audience.” --- Patti LuPone.
I'm becoming more fascinated with the economics of Broadway touring productions and maybe someone here can fill me in on a small, insignificant question regarding the current tour of Beetlejuice. Is it typical for tours to take a one or two week hiatus in performances? I ask this because the current Beetlejuice tour itinerary has a week gap in between their Atlanta run (3/19 - 3/24) and their Seattle run (4/2 - 4/7). They also have a week gap in between Costa Mesa run (4/16 - 4/28) and their Albuquerque run (5/8 - 5/12).
Are they waiting for more theaters to book them or do tours typically go on a brief pause (perhaps to allow the cast and crew a light break from the tour life)? I'm not as familiar with how touring productions operate compared to Broadway so please forgive my naivety.
I’d say a hiatus on tour is more common than not. I’m sure the production would rather be playing those weeks, but for some reason or another they weren’t booked by anyone. It’s called a “layoff” and as the name might be able to hint at everyone is laid off for those weeks.
In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.

The Toronto 2024/2025 season will be announced on Feb 13th. We’re still waiting for a number of tours from the past few years: Frozen, Beetlejuice, Funny Girl, Company, Moulin Rouge and more.

I think with tours there are always scheduled breaks for the performers that they tend to refer to as a layoff, as previously mentioned. I think it's probably a break/vacation after they've been on the road with no breaks for a while. Mean Girls had the break from November/December until a week ago I think.
Minneapolis 2024-2025 season will be announced on 2/8/2024. A few shows have already been announced, including Parade and Disney's Beauty and the Beast (August 2025).

Hopefully, Kimberly Akimbo will play the Forrest Theater and not the Academy of Music.
Detroit is teasing an announcement coming soon. Full page add on the back cover of the Wicked playbill to sign up for the announcement. Hoping for Parade, Kimberly, Shucked, and somehow we haven't gotten Moulin Rouge yet.

There is catching up to do on big Broadway shows, I could add several more to the list.
Toronto equally has a track record of looking to take big shows both from Broadway and West End. So wonder if they would be looking at National Theatre’s The Witches, The Motive and the Cue or Dear England.
What would be amazing is if they did a major coup and signed up My Neighour Totoro for a soft launch, which is massive hit in London and will play Broadway at some stage, so would make a great pre-Broadway launch.
Mirvish always has enormous potential to make great season announcement, but somehow when it comes it’s underwhelming.

I agree, Mirvish could always have some amazing seasons but they usually underwhelm. I feel like this season announcement could be big if they wanted it, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
As you said, any of those West End shows would make a lot of sense as a precursor to a Broadway run. I also feel like Operation Mincemeat would do extremely well in Toronto. There's so many England shows that make sense. I suspect we will get something from England, but who knows what that might be.
Durham Performing Arts Center (NC) announced a few months ago that Shucked will play its stage but no dates yet. I'm a season seat member there and our announcement is February 24. DPAC is touting the season to feature "eight brand new shows direct from New York" so we'll see! I'm hoping for Kimberly Akimbo, A Beautiful Noise, and Life of Pi!

Could I ask this again? Asking since there's a Few Tours that are wrapping up soon that I'd like to catch, I'd just like to know what to try to catch before next season begins and i can't catch them anymore.
PETER PAN - 10/1-10/6/24 SHUCKED - 11/19-11/24/24 THE BOOK OF MORMON - 1/7-1/12/25 & JULIET - 1/21-1/26/25 HAMILTON - 3/4-3/23/25 MAMMA MIA! - 4/8-4/13/25 THE WIZ - 4/29-5/4/25 PARADE - 7/15-7/20/25 LIFE OF PI - 8/19-8/24/25
Assuming HAMILTON and MORMON are optional. Official announcement is Thursday.
Kind of surprised that other than Hamilton, none of the other shows stay longer than 1 week. &Juliet, The Wiz and/or Parade could have been 2 weeks. Also, we don't have a "summer engagement" lasting for several weeks like we usually do.
