In regards to casting, NOTHING is set until the press release. I am sure that, for example, the producers of Damn Yankees have floated the idea of playing Lola to Julianne Hough’s agents, but that by no means will necessarily result in her playing the role.

The problem Cats has is it's a show already a lot of people hate. Those that do love it possibly won't be into this new concept which isn't close to the show they love. And the new concept is quite niche and likely won't attractpeople back who have hated the show in the past."
I was in line for a show last night, and I overheard a conversation where someone who used to work in marketing for shows said that he didn't see the new Cats because he hates the show.

Could TWO STRANGERS possibly get a name for one of the roles if it doesn't win to keep it running?

No, both are perfect in the roles, and it doesn't seem they would do that for a show so intimate. Their chemistry is unbeatable and Sam has been in the role for years.

That person was smart. I hated the original CATS when I saw it in London in 1981. I had never seen it again, but decided to get tickets after reading the reviews. I hated the performance just as much as the original, and concluded that -- no matter how you dress it up -- it is still CATS. One good song and one good theme...the rest of the score is crap IMHO.

Right, but I'm wondering if Sam might be leaving soon. Unless he's a surprise win tonight.

So after last night how long do we think Cats has on Broadway

Apparently, one of the first shows to post a closing notice post-ceremony this year will not be one of the eligible titles from this last season.

What does that even mean? Is it a show from the previous season before that?

Sorry for the poor wording… a longer-runner. From the season before, or beyond.

This is an anonymous message board. Just say the name of the show or don’t say anything at all.

I'd like to by a vowel please.

If rumors are to be believed:
- I have it on good authority"
stop right here
rumors are rumors and therefore not to be believed
and as others have already on this thread
your authority is no good
i feel like this board is mostly full of ppl who are on the outside of the action
but by posting here somehow feel like they are an actual part of it
gossiping with your pals doesnt count
and spreading misinformation on here is counterproductive
try going outside and breathing in some fresh air
maybe volunteer at a local community center

Ragtime is definitely extending correct? I wonder how long they can go for, if that’s even the plan, but I assume LCT is gonna squeeze out every last drop of this show like they did for for South Pacific, The King and I, and My Fair Lady

OP has been wishing for and predicting the death of Maybe Happy Ending since it began previews. Take what they say with a grain of salt.

I genuinely think OP is talking out their read, but Six has been on shaky ground and I could see it closing by the end of the summer

It should get extended to the end of the year. But the leads will all be replaced by September.

I thought I had heard Ragtime had a hard closing date due to the theater being accounted for in the fall already? Or am I mistaken?
Posted: 6/8/26 at 8:53am
Is there any chance Salesman extends? Would love to catch it again.

My guess is either &Juliet or Six.

i'd say & Juliet, Six, Maybe Happy Ending and Buena Vista Social Club are probably the most likely, and sadly Two Strangers
