She doesn't have a film lined up for six or so months, and that in itself is flexible. Firsthand knowledge, take it or leave it. I, for one, am really hoping all of this that I'm told will come to reality.

Posted: 7/2/09 at 11:21pmLoveIsCompany, I really hope you are right. If you are, I think I will buy tickets the minute they are on sale.

Excuse me. Winslet is in.
Why you all take LoveIsCompany's word as law is baffling, really.
No one knows anything except Nunn, Sondheim and Winslet.
The truth has a way of revealing itself.

Posted: 7/3/09 at 12:52amso, Pgenre, are you Nunn, Sondheim or Winslet?

^ That is exactly what I wanted to say, but I do not need another fight with Pgenre.
But if Winslet really is cast, this will be amazing!

LoveIsCompany is reliable and a darling, I don't get PGenre's need to make that kind of bitchy comment.
Seriously, I can't wait for an official announcement.

It's fine to take sport in speculation and bitchiness is not something I aim for, but I clearly stated weeks ago that this was essentially a done deal and it has continued to be.
The tantalizing tidbits being offerred by LoveisCompany is obviously a preferable mode of anticipation, I suppose.
And plans can always fall through, after all.
Frederick is the real suprise. Who to team with Angie and Winslet? Who indeed... (!!!!) I'd say someone is gonna win his Tony for his second Broadway Sondheim show (after being snubbed the first time), though he was brilliant in what I saw him in in DC seven years ago. My favorite actor actually.

I know who you are talking about. And it's not a huge secret. Definitely an exciting bit of casting (if it definitely happens).

Posted: 7/3/09 at 1:22amI bet it's Jere Shea. I knew he was going to make a huge comeback.

I think we all know who you're talking about. And for anyone who is still REALLY clueless....

OK?

I'm hesitant to believe anything until it's official, but, Kate Winslet is about one of a number of film actors I can count on one hand that I have respect for. I would melt into a puddle of goo if I saw her on stage.
It's pretty easy to figure out who P Genre is talking about, so be that the case, he hasn't done much to keep it a surprise.
And, be that the case, I will be investing in an oxygen tank.

Posted: 7/3/09 at 1:25amA few offers were officially accepted today, so I'd expect an announcement this next week. Most of the speculation is dead on, but there will be a few surprises that I think most will be pleased with!
re: A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC takes the Kerr?#393
Posted: 7/3/09 at 1:26am"This actor" wasn't nominated for the first Sondheim show he did.

Eeeee! I am so excited for both Kate Winslet and the nameless actor
Now can the official announcement come so I can be "officially" excited!?

If Kate is in this show, I will die of excitement. I said it once and I'll say it again.
I just LOVE her beyond words.
And can someone PM me with this highly-speculated male everyone is talking about...?

as much as I'd like to go campaigning "Jere Shea for Fredrik in '09," I have no idea who this nameless actor is.
although...I must admit...I can't see Raul as Fredrik. I love him, but no.
re: A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC takes the Kerr?#397
Posted: 7/3/09 at 1:30amOn Broadway, ljay. I'm assuming, anyway. The KC shows were ineligible, obviously.
re: A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC takes the Kerr?#398
Posted: 7/3/09 at 1:30amljay, he was nominated for the first Sondheim he did on Broadway. The two before that weren't on Broadway.
re: A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC takes the Kerr?#399
Posted: 7/3/09 at 1:32amAnd yes, I have a bit of a hard time seeing him as Frederik at the age the part was originally written to be. Which is like 50. But if they're skewing this much younger, well, it could work.
