I haven't seen the show, nor am I very familiar with it, so I can't speak to its quality. However, I think ALW is underestimating how important Carrie Hope Fletcher was to the show. Not that CHF is a huge star, but she has a large social media following in the UK who are the exact demographic this show is aiming for.
While I'm all for casting relatively unknown actors, I think this show really needs someone who can activate the young fans.

I love Bryan the Business Analyst!!! He was my actual first follow on TikTok. I wish he'd go back to doing the weekly box office breakdowns because I always looked forward to them. And the Great Comet series is so inside baseball juicy!

I was there this morning and I heard her say that she's known about this since February. It a) made me chuckle because of all of the rumor mill Sweaty Oracle nonsense when this has actually been settled for 8 months and b) made me so happy for her because this is huge for her (whether it flops or somehow does not) and it must be incredible to FINALLY get to talk about it and be happy!
