I saw both parts last Saturday (3/17), and thought it was just amazing. I would see it again in a heartbeat. I did not have any trouble sitting through both parts, but I knew what to expect, having seen a production in Chicago in the 90's. Andrew Garfield was stunning, and Nathan Lane was great, but he was Nathan Lane playing Roy Cohn,. I had a little trouble with the Angel, as I was used to seeing a blinding white angel crashing through the ceiling, and this angel was definitely kind of ratty and I had to get used to the "shadows". However, sometimes you just have to sit back and revel in somebody else's creative vision.
The play seems more important than ever, with the disaster in the White House, his complicit followers in Congress, and their servitude to the NRA. (sorry, I'm getting a little political). I can only hope that the "World continues to spin forward".
On another note, I am an RN, and saw a young patient the other day who had developed Kaposi's Sarcoma after not bothering to take his ART medication. So this crappy disease is still with us. Be careful out there, take your meds, and take the PREP medication if you are at risk. Thanks.
