I stopped getting before broadway shows. Too expensive not to remember what you have seen.

I had mixed feelings about the show. I thought the production was very well done, and I liked NPH a lot. I think the show itself is just not for me. I'm not a fan of the whole "concert" structure. There were moments that were intended to be very powerful, and WERE powerful. Some meant to be sad that WERE sad. And definitely moments that were very funny. But for me it didn't really come together well, and it didn't strike me as hard as it seemed to strike others.
Someone earlier said that it's always a good idea to see shows you don't like again -- It's very possible that if I were to see it again, I would like it much more, but I'd rather spend my time and money seeing something I haven't already seen.

When you first find out HEDWIG is revived
The night before HEDWIG tickets go on sale
When you get your tickets to HEDWIG
When you're heading to the theater to see HEDWIG
When you're watching HEDWIG
When you leave the HEDWIG theater

Posted: 6/29/14 at 3:25pm@ Jordan Catalano - That's Funny! Gif 3 is pretty accurate to how i reacted to being able to see the show, as i thought i would not be able to get my parents to take me to NYC during the run, but ended up being able to.

Posted: 6/29/14 at 3:48pmDarreyl, When I saw it, I thought it was just okay. I enjoyed the score a lot more than I thought I would. But for me the show was nothing special. I actually loved Rocky and Bullets, which of course, many on here didn't like.

NPH just seems way overrated in this whole role. Actually, in general, NPH is way too over-hyped for the "talent" he has.
I've only seen a few minutes here and there of Hedwig, so I'm not judging the show. I am just tired of all this praise for someone who doesn't really do much but play themselves.

I just don't know. LOL.
I will say that i don't think i was overhyped or anything. I was VERY excited to see the show, but then i am ALWAYS excited to be seeing theatre- it brings me such joy and happiness. When i got to the theatre i was very excited but also a little rushed because After Midnight let out a little later then expected and i only had twenty minutes to get to the theatre. I got in my seat 5 minutes before 10 (which is something i normally hate doing, as i like to get to the theatre early and settle in). However, since the show didn't actually start till around 10:15, i was plenty calmed and cool when it started.
Also, Overhyping and knowing too much about a show before seeing it has NEVER been a problem for me- i actually saw the boots of Cinderella, Addams Family and other shows before actually seeing the show and still LOVED them when i saw them live.
I must stress that i liked the show and it was fun, but not anything special.

Different strokes I guess. I can't imagine watching bootlegs of a production I'm going to spend money to see.
If you aren't caught up in Hedwig by the time Origin of Live concludes, you may as well leave. That's my advice.

"how i reacted to being able to see the show, as i thought i would not be able to get my parents to take me to NYC"
That explains everything. You are too young. Perhaps Broadway shows should be made 21+? Or perhaps, as is done at some nightclubs in the US, those under 21 should have to pay a premium to enter. Instead of having student rush etc, tickets for intolerable theatre children should start at $500 - I'm sure mummy and daddy won't mind digging a little deeper.

At the above post, inception assumes the roles played in the early 2000s by Dollypop and FindungNamo.

Are you implying that NPH has a multiple personality disorder? Because I don't see how he can be Barney Stinson, Dr. Horrible and Hedwig (which are 3 very different roles) while playing himself.

You are almost 23 and still relying on mummy and daddy to "bring you to NY?" Then yes, you ARE to young for Hedwig.

Being in college, doing the stage door... you just can't catch a break on here, grrl.
As for not bring in love with NPH, I saw JCM back in the day, so I think I've forever tainted when it comes to future Hedwigs.
