the only thing I would say is that its almost disrespectful to say that Lansbury is "overrated", the woman has won FOUR TONY AWARDS

She has surpassed that point by becoming an icon of her own. Not too many reach that mark in life. I haven't seen her give a bad performance yet.

Exactly what sort of reaction did you think you were going to get?
I agree with whomever said, if you want proof of how well Lansbury can sing, listen to the Mame CD. It's a far better representation of her voice than the Gypsy CD.

I'll join the chorus of saying Lansbury is a musical theatre legend in a class all by herself, but I wanted to address one comment in particular.
I haven't seen her give a bad performance yet.

Mybe it's due to your immaturity, or just judging her off of one recording (especially considering recordings aren't always fair bases to base a conclusion off of). Listen to her in Dear World or Mame and you'll certainly see why she is perhaps the greatest women to ever be born.
