I am not in NY so not sure what is being discussed "on the street" and my only idea of what is being communicated through the grapevine is what is being disclosed on this board, but I think they are smart to keep the public guessing. You can't buy this kind of publicity. Creating buzz for the show, I am assuming. "Will he or won't he." He will be a hero if he does go on tonight. He is a nice guy and I wish him well and sorry he is going through this but the publicity and open questions can only help the box office. "Come on along and listen to the lullaby of Broadway."

I may be wrong, but I doubt that this story has found significant traction beyond those who were already paying attention to the show. It's not like David Muir is putting it at the top of his news report.
I was going to say the same thing: not so sure this is much of a story beyond the bway community and "us".
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Right, but that doesn't effect anyone that wasn't going to Opening Night.

I agree. I don't think it's a huge deal to anyone outside of his board/the Broadway community. Just pointing out it was picked up elsewhere.

I really wish the best for Andy Karl. I can't even imagine what this must feel like.
In other news, the cast album sounds great! The score reminds me of something that William Finn would write. I might have to go see this one. Hopefully, Andy's injury isn't too severe and will back in the show and back into Tony consideration.
Yes, we just don't know who is playing the lead. (But my money is on AK.)

I hope Karl makes a swift recovery, but this is also an exciting opportunity for Andrew Call, who is reliably great performer who has not had a breakout role.

Don't you think if there was, someone would post them here? It's quite likely that it's unknown currently whether Andy Karl or Andrew Call is going on tonight. For all we know, a decision may not be made until this afternoon.

Good for him! What a trooper. I'm guessing the injury isn't that serious.
