So much for the "insiders" who were sure this wouldn't be the case.

That anyone didn't think he was going on is cray.
He probably cortisone shot that knee up or said 'cut me mick' like rocky did in the movie to keep fighting.
The man was doing opening night no matter what. Hopefully he won't do real damage to whatever happened? to him by pushing it or the injury wasn't as serious in the first place.

^That doesn't make it any better. (For Skimble)
Or maybe, his injury just isn't that bad. If he can't perform over the next few weeks, it really doesn't matter if he manages tonight.

In other news, the cast album sounds great! The score reminds me of something that William Finn would write. I might have to go see this one. Hopefully, Andy's injury isn't too severe and will back in the show and back into Tony consideration.
"
How did you hear the cast album? From iTunes its not being released until Apr 21st.

Thank you! I love listening the music before seeing the show as I tend to enjoy the show more. But Apr 21st is only a week before so any extra days to listen is great. Have heard 2 songs and they're great.

No actor you don't even personally know should be causing stress in your life. This is borderline insanity, and I would strongly recommend you see a specialist soon. I mean this sincerely - not joking.

i won't say break a leg Andy- just Merde and Toi Toi Toi....take it easy man.....don't let the adrenaline overcome you.

Presumably this means the injury wasn't that serious. It's not a matter of just getting through tonight's show on adrenaline. If he can't perform for the next few weeks, performing tonight is pointless.

I am so happy to hear this!!!
And it is perfectly fine that people on this board have expressed strong concerns. And he seems like a really nice person who is incredibly talented and has put in a lot of hard work on this show. It sucks when bad things happen to good people. I'm sure we can all relate to that. It's okay to be emotionally invested.
i've been rooting for him all weekend.

Will be interesting to hear reports from tonights show. Will he be limping, struggling to get through the show? Or will he be fine with no mobility issues at all and no changes to the show. I believe during the recurring bedroom scene you can see his legs? Will there be a visible brace being used? Can AK do 8 shows a week? Or will he have to take a night off for a while, or maybe not do matinees? Not so sure its as cut and dry as hes back and its all good. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Random strangers fretting about if an actor will have a brace on his leg or not is, in fact, disconcerting and NOT normal. Sorry.

Liza you calling people not normal is a bit pot, kettle, black.

It's literally a message board to discuss what's happening on Broadway.

Continually posting on a message board with overwhelmingly negative comments is more disconcerting to me.

Liza's original point was really not without merit. An actor's ability to perform or not perform should not cause a fan (however big of a fan) actual stress. It's cute, but it is not something any of us should condone just because we want to get on Liza's case.
Skimble - I'm happy for you. I hope you get to see him perform again. For your sakes, I even hope there's a desirable wardrobe malfunction.

Relax. Im not "fretting" just discussing as other posters said. Is that not the point here?

I just thought it was kind of funny that the two actors involved here have almost the same name.
Andy (Andrew) Karl. Andrew Call.

Performing tonight is not only not pointless, but critical if he wants to be eligible for a Tony. He does not have to complete the show, though I imagine he will. I would not assume the injury is not serious. Karl is a very tough guy, they can add braces and adjust his choreography (for lack of a better word) to make it easier on him. He does not have to perform every single performance in the upcoming week's.

Well isn't that closeness of name the point of the character
There's Phil and Punxsutawney Phil

the fact that you're not joking is much more troublesome than someone being totally into this. I was the same way with past experiences with Rocky Horror and Hedwig.
Skimleshanks, you do not have to see a specialist soon for this reason. Enjoy yourself!

I'm so excited about this news for tonight! I'll report back from my rearest of rear mezz seats - but just so thrilled to be going, I don't care where I sit.
