To Defend his actions (And regardless if you think you are, you are Nonetheless) by Asking the Question "Have you seen 15 year olds nowadays?", Is a patently weak arguement. Let's use a similar situation but change it a little bit to display how wrong this alleged incident is. Let's say I really want to go to the mall which is located just a few blocks from my house, but my leg is broken and I can't drive. My 6 year old nephew tells me that He can drive me. He knows his way around the car and is familiar with all the controls-Heck he may have even driven it a few times up and down the driveway. Let's go far as to say that he is a regular Jeff Gordon (a pro race dirver for those who don't know) He offers to drive me to the mall. Now I know that this is wrong, against the law, and dangerous. But I also know that he really wants to, and we probably will be fine, Plus I really need to get to the mall to get the newest Anthony Warlow CD. What should I do, being a responsible 28 year old? Make sense?

I'm telling you firsthand the man is a pig was a pig and deserves every single thing he is getting. Also just because a 15 year old talks a big game doesn't mean they are ready for sex with someone more than twice their age. I just love the fact that they have a hotline set up for other victims to come forward. There is more to this story than we all know.
Honestly, I have heard these rumors about him for years. A 13 year old!!!! To even admit that he kissed her and entertained her (the 15 year old)in his apartment on his bed is sick.

1. a few pages back, I CLEARLY stated that I UNDERSTAND it was illegal, and I posed my arguement for why I think this particular law can be used for bad and why I feel that in this situation I feel the way I do.
2.TheatreDiva90016--that was incredibly rude and made you sound like a 15 year-old yourself.
3. Neverandy-- My asking of the question: "Have you SEEN 15 year-olds now adays?" was NOT my arguement for the case in general, it was in response to a particular comment made by someone else.
4. Rath--"If this story was about someone in ANY other profession, there is no WAY this argument would be taking place." --I personally disagree with this, I often feel that the "rape card" is abused, and takes away from women who have actual had to experience it. When you are just easy and then cry rape later to make yourself feel better about it is disrespectful to yourself and more so to those that are telling the truth.
Also, I would like to point out, that in the real world people have their own opinions. You can yell at them, make fun of their names and reasons and get angry all you want but opinions aren't changed that easily. I am respecting all of your opinions but stating my own. I'm sorry that this has turned into a bash fest, and please think before you post. Thanks!
and all that I could do because of you was talk of love...
and the 13 year old, steph? it was her fault too, right?

I don't think there's any way to discuss this in a rational manner. If you suggest that he might be innocent, someone says, "Sure, that's it, blame the victim!" If you suggest that a 15 year old girl could perhaps be an aggressor, someone says "you must be pro child abuse!" And if you suggest that even though he may be guilty of a bad thing, he doesn't deserve to have his life ruined, someone says, "so I guess you think it's okay to be a child rapist."
And why doesn't anyone question the morals of The Post, which doesn't think twice to ruin the reputation of a man convicted of nothing, in its quest to titilate it's readers, and sell papers.
Behind the fake tinsel of Broadway is real tinsel.

how many people felt the same way about that poor soul mark foley? i mean, just because someone likes to f*ck little kids doesn't make them a bad person, does it?
let's blame the girl, the post, the people of broadayworld, everyone except the now 40-something guy who seems to like to f*ck little kids.

I think Leefowler has a valid point. There is no way to intelligentally have this debate.
Also, the man has NOT been proven guilty. Currently this is all speculation on all sides and until a full trial happens (if it happens) he is innoncent until proven guilty.
As for the comments about his career being over is an interesting fact of our society. Criminals are thrown in jail and do time but are never educated as to why the things they do are wrong and therefore come out of prison and tend to commit crimes again. Time for new laws to be written and education/rehabilitation to be the focus instead of longer prison sentences and a death penalty that is proven not to work.

This is what he has admitted and is using as his defense:
She made advances towards him at a restaurant. After this incident, he still dedided to "mentor" her. He then invited her to his apartment, where he was in bed with her. He "Kissed" her in his bed. Then the talk turned sexual. Then nothing happenned.
Why, after the incident in the restaurant, did he continue contact with her? If she initiated the physical relationship in the restaruant , and he knew it was wrong, as he has stated, why did he continue to "mentor" her? He is a cross-examiner's wet-dream! And again-there is another accuser who was 13 at the time of her alleged encounter who has nothing to gain by accusing him since the statute of limitations has run out.
Oh Mr Rochester!

not for nothing, but the phrase, "she was 15, you f*cking perv" comes to mind here. but i guess this is the opening salvo in the war to keep him out of general population once he goes to prison. i mean we all know what happens to those who prey on children in prison. he won't be having any trouble with constipation. although that smile will suffer when they knock out all of his teeth so he can't bite them when forced to fellate. oh and steph, betcha didn't know that it's possible to force even a 40-something man to suck a c*ck.

Papa-although the images you describe, while being nasty, are a little gratifying to imagine for someone who is guilty of pedophilia(and I am not saying JB is!)- I think the incidence of Recidivism is pretty well documented in cases of Child sex abuse.
Other than that, did you enjoy the play Mrs Lincoln?
Not from the most reliable source but a quote from wikipedia:
"As reported on BBC Radio 4 on 2 September 2005, the recidivism rates for released prisoners in the United States of America is 60% compared with 50% in the United Kingdom. The report attributed the lower recidivism rate in the UK to a focus on rehabilitation and education of prisoners compared with the US focus on punishment, deterrence and keeping potentially dangerous individuals away from society."

Also this is another random note the case with the 15 year old is not pedophilia. Pedophilia (from a scientific definition) is with a child who has not gone through puberty. The correct term is Ephebophilia which is having an attraction to young, post-pubescent children.
FYI for anyone who cares. Not a difference except for a scientific point of view.
