The less thematically appropriate, the better. Like, pulled pork sliders at A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC
For "A Little Night Music" it should be Figs .... No, not Figs .... RAISINS.
I heard the cast is still holding out hope for a cast recording. I'd love to have one has the music is the best part of the musical. I think Only You, Lonely You and I know I have a Heart will become standards.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. And with that, ALW's 44-year streak has come to an end!
The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince
Carolee told me the other day that she’s doing “Into the Woods” at a theatre in Pittsburgh, next month. I think Patti Murin is the Bakers Wife in it but I don’t know anything else.

This must be the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera production.
The full cast hasn’t been announced yet, but in addition to Murin, Manu Narayan (Company) is the Baker, Joe Serafini (“High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” ) is Jack, Elizabeth Stanley (Jagged Little Pill) is the Witch, Kyla Stone (1NT of Anastasia) is Cinderella, and Jordan Tyson (Chicago tryout of The Notebook) is Little Red.
The rest of the show went off with just a heightened sense of occasion, no more no less. Lots of entrance applause for Prince Charming (because…who wouldn’t…*fans self*).
Grace McClean was all up on me at the top of Act II, fiddling with my necklace and reading my ASL shirt (which said “A Musical About A Musical? That’s The GAYEST S**T I Ever Heard&rdquo and said it was cute and thanked me for coming to the ball.
Linedy blew the roof of “I Know I Have A Heart…” the only real time I saw spontaneous standing ovations in Act II. Everyone was teary by the end and everyone was on stage until the curtain came down. No speeches or anything and neither any of the creatives nor ALW appeared.
Everyone was out at the stage door and it felt like a block party. You could feel the overwhelming support the fans had for this show (even my cynical butt). I’m not sad it’s gone, but I’ll cherish the dumb fun I had.
Also, congrats to Maxwell Sheffield - patron saint of the long game.

Elizabeth Stanley was originally cast as the Witch, but when the New York City Center Pal Joey was announced, she posted on Instagram that she would no longer be doing Into the Woods because she would be in rehearsals for Pal Joey (which seemed odd for a show that doesn't run until November?). She made a joke about how, instead of getting her Witch on, she would be getting her Bewitched on (as in Bothered and Bewildered, of course). Carmello must be the replacement.
