Hello....umm, I'm kinda new here, but I just had a quick question I hoped someone could answer. I've seen a lot of posts about bootlegs of Bare and I was wondering if any were available for download/sale. I never actually got to see the show because of it closing (didn't even know it existed last year - tragic, yes). So any help anyone could give me would be great! Thanks!
Honey, I know you're new but you can't post things like that on the message board - good things don't come of it, and you never know who's reading this. Just be careful.

Well, not really. I was in the elevator on 57th and 7th going to pick up a check (I'm feeling rich today), and a man in a suit and his two collegues got in. As we went up, he looked at my Bare bag, and asked me, "What is Bare?" I told him. He said, "Give me the ten second pitch." I got excited and pitched him on the show for ten seconds and told him how the producers were having issues finding backing because people wanted in on the ground floor....etc. Then, he said, "We'll have to do some more research on that." And, the other two men nodded. They got to their stop, shook my hand, and got out onto their floor.
So, I could have potentially solved the crisis of Bare. If I did, I'm expecting some praise in the form of opening night tickets. You know, just FYI. =)
Thought this thread would like that story.

Wow, that's quite a story. Yay for powerful rich people in New York! (Well, some anyway.)
In other news, where did you get a BARE bag??

LOL Bluewizard you stole my question. I want the Bare bag!
But touchmeinthemorning that's quite the story! Can't you just picture the little show that could feature in the NY Times with your name in big, blaring lights. It'd be a Hollywood ending!
And Mimi Imfurst you *know* the invitation is always open for you to join in on the fun. Who the hell can keep track of you and your schedule is another matter entirely!

Can I third the Bare Bag question???? I saw someone on the street by our hotel once, and practically stopped dead in my tracks at the just the beauty of it!!!
Anyway, great story thanks for sharing, and hopefully this will bring about good things!!

I haven't really posted on this forum but the fanbase is HUGE. I spoke to someone "in the know" and the word is, BARE isn't happening at all. Apparently, many cast members are just not interested in re-launching the show off-b'way at all. I am not a shill or nay-sayer of any kind. I enjoy some of BARE but no, I'm not a huge fan. In any case, this is just what I've heard. If interest from the cast isn't all that positive, can we just let it lie? Maybe it'll come back, maybe not. But for God's sake, the performers will get other jobs that will allow you to see them in their glory.
That's just my un-biased 2-cents...so please refrain from the teenage "BARE IS THE BEST SHOW, LIKE, EVER!" rants. Thank you.
Well, um, thanks? Perhaps I've been reading this thread wrong, but I do believe we've all been discussing the upcoming projects of Jenna, Michael, John, Scott, etc. This thread doesn't simply revolve around Bare, but is all encompassing with each of their careers.
Regardless of whether the actors wish to return to do it, I still think Kristin, Damon and Jon deserve to have their work seen by as much of an audience as they can, this cast or a different cast altogether.
ETA: BTW, I'm about 10 years removed from being a teenager (not that there's anything wrong with being one) but thanks for the input on how to behave.

I love the authoritative **knowledge** of that post.
Oh, boy.
BTW, Monday's pictures are great. Stephen Bienske, who is in the first picture, was actually "Buddy" in Steve Schalchlin's first show, "The Last Session"

I just realized, your last name is Butz! Both "Norbert" AND "Butz" are in your name! You must have gotten picked on a lot as a child!
Hi, perhaps you have more time on your hands than I do. I don't have the luxury to click "Refresh" ever 5 seconds to see what has last been posted.
No- I didn't realise that this thread had taken a different turn, regarding the individual careers of past BARE cast and crew. Perhaps the fact that there are about 400 PAGES of posts makes me think, "Gee, I really don't care to go through EVERY single one of them"?????
Thank you for proving that teens aren't the only needlessly bitchy and defensive demographic out there.
Honestly, I don't understand why it was essential for you to respond in the first place.
And no, I don't hate teens. I'm mid-20s and understand being excitable. It just so happens that the majority of completely obnoxious posts/threads happen to be (IN MY OPINION) from teens who start posts such as: OMG LIKE WICKED IS LIKE OMG ONLY LIKE THE BEST SHOW LIKE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But feel free to be offended. After all, we've SADLY got George W. for 4 more years and the only pity you'll get is RIGHT HERE.
Thank you for proving that teens aren't the only needlessly bitchy and defensive demographic out there.
*laughs* Oh irony, you slay me.
I do believe the point was that if you'd taken some time to actually read what we've been discussing there would be no point in chastising us to start with. Not that there was ever a need to start with, but even less so in this case.
Like I said, thanks for your input. And just like George W. I'll take it into consideration and file it in my "Democrats a.k.a. Ignore" folder.

The Bare bag was a gift from a director friend of mine who worked on Bare. I mentioned to him that I liked the show while we were working on our show, and he gave it to me as an opening night gift. now, it holds my life inside as I walk down the streets of NYC from audition to audition -- trying to find an agent...good God, when will someone good sign me???!!!

trying to find an agent...good God, when will someone good sign me???!!!
a small piece of unsolicted advice...
don't waste your time looking for agents - spend your time developing your relationship with Casting Directors (go to EVERY audition you can!!!)
Develop your relationships with Directors that you've worked with or would like to work with.
read the October issue of American Theatre - which lists EVERY REGIONAL PRODUCTION IN THE COUNTRY FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON) you can plan submissions off of that.... (and yes, you can submit yourself if you're smart....)
LOOK FOR WORK AND PEOPLE WHO CAN BRING YOU WORK....and the agents will come to you..
take if from one who's been there.
Agents (God love 'em) are people YOU PAY!!
Spend your time looking for people to PAY YOU!!! and Agents will be right behind them - I guarantee it.

Hey y'all. Just thought I'd pop in and say that I just returned from the city! (So great to meet the fabulous Jess!) But, went to hairspray this afternoon, and was in shock to see John's name in my playbill!! Was fantastic and glad he's back on stage! Hope everyone is well!
