I also saw a video on their account of Josh and Andrew auctioning something off. Josh joked about an Olaf lap dance but I don't know what the original item they were auctioning was.
Sweeney Todd has signed sheet music, $100.00, signed program, $200.00 and signed posters $400.00. There was nothing at BTTF, HLL, everything else we saw last week was in previews. I am stunned at the increases in prices over the past 4 years. The only 2 posters I have ever paid over $200.00 have been “Hamilton” and “The Music Man” at $500.00 each. I am not complaining I love giving to BC/EFA, but wouldn’t they make more money if it was just a little more reasonable?
Yeah, most - if not all - is tax deductible, and they may also be trying to combat the resale market. And whatever doesn't sell will be priced to move at a future flea market!
It's also a big ordeal for stage management & company management to get the casts to sign them (for BC/EFA, for the co-producers, for other purposes). Which is another good reason to limit the quantities...chasing actors with sharpies and 200 posters is not anyone's first priority. It's all a nice gesture and a good cause, but the line has to be drawn somewhere.
Just got home from Merrily and Daniel Radcliffe did a fantastic job hosting a live auction. The item in question was a signed "scrap of paper" Radcliffe had typewritten on in a performance during show's off-Broadway run, and Jonathan Groff had scribbled "Love this woman" on it, referencing a woman in the audience of that particular performance with a great laugh. A bidding war commenced and it wound up selling for $1600 to a woman in the front row. Radcliffe was insanely charming throughout and did a great job getting the audience excited.
Additionally, they're selling window cards signed by the entire cast for $400 each, and Playbills signed by the entire cast for $200 each. Radcliffe on the item prices: "I know that the high tickets prices for this show mean that some of you may have over extended yourselves coming here tonight, and this is less directed at you, but this is a big enough room that statistically, some of you are loaded."
Here Lies Love and & Juliet were both selling playbills for $50 and posters $100. Was hoping Some Like It Hot and Moulin Rouge were. Especially SLIH since it’s closing soon.

I bought a poster, got home and discovered he Groff didn't sign it! I'm hoping to get him to add his signature at the stage door if possible. I've also written to him, care of the Hudson, hoping he'll see it and take pity on me and let me leave it at the stage door for a signature. Pretty amazing that they'd sell something that doesn't have one of the leads on it - considering it is being "advertised" as signed by the entire cast.

I'm sorry that happened, but it's not like he did it on purpose. They're signing so many posters. At least one is bound to accidentally slip through
In re: Merrily poster: I have had a similar experience… I’m not certain he didn’t sign it, but I cannot identify his signature. I’m going to study it a bit more. 🤷🏻♂️
THE SHARKS IS BROKEN had signed playbills for $40. A lot of People were buying and donating at the show I was at. So nice to see. Brightman gave a great speech.

Not a thing last Saturday.
The Merrily typed page from show auction last Friday got to $4,000. Impressive - Ratcliffe has a career as an auctioneer if the actor stuff doesn’t work out.
