-I loved the revival of "Evita", and loved Rickie Martin. Also thought Elena Roger gave a powerful, authentic performance.
-I had low expectations of "A Gentleman's Guide", and only went because it was one of our ticket options when "Side Show" closed, and loved it, and loved Jefferson Mays.
-Hated the second act of "Lion King", kept thinking, "Kill Scar, already".
-Second act of "The Producers" too long.
-Matthew Broderick phoned in his performance of "Nice Work if you can Get it". Won't go see him in anything ever again.
-HATED "If/Then". Tired of Idina Menzel and her screeching.
-Not sure why the heroine-worship of Kelly O'hara.
-Not as excited about "Something Rotten" as I thought I should be. When Christian Borle leaves the stage, energy goes poof!
-Loved Megan Hilty in "Smash", HATED Katharine McPhee. First season too soapy, second season just sucked.
I think most musical second acts could be cut down.
-And I think Bernadette Peters mostly just plays Bernadette Peters.

That may be, but I was only asking not to be attacked for my opinions. That doesn't make me clueless.

Welcome to the Broadway World message boards.
I saw the Lion King on tour and it was one of the worst shows I've ever seen. Not the acting and singing, those were good. But the set design -- and the book -- I found them terrible.
Plus, the only wrong with the bad guys was that they were hungry. That's obnoxious.
I would rather see "Chicago" close than "Mama Mia".
"Noises Off" was the worst thing I have ever seen on Broadway.
No way "Newsies" should have lost Best Musical Tony to "Once".
I like Frank Wildhorn's Broadway music especially "Jekyll and Hyde" and "Bonny and Clyde".
"Loved Megan Hilty in "Smash", HATED Katharine McPhee. First season too soapy, second season just sucked. "
I think 95% of this board loved Megan Hilty and "hated" Katherine McPhee so that is not really controversial.
I find "color blind" casting sometimes borderline offensive when it's whites in ethnic roles. I admit I'm biased and have a double standard because, yes, I have no problems with, say a Black or Latina in O/H's Cinderella or a Japanese or Filipina Maria in West Side Story.
My main issue is that most roles go overwhelmingly to White performers anyways so the few ethnic specific roles going to them also annoys me.
"Elena Roger gave a powerful, authentic performance."
Well, the real Eva Peron couldn't sing either, so I guess I can't argue with that.
skies, I am totally with you on that.

Don't worry, Maureen, that Pootie person likes to tell people they are clueless. It said I was clueless about what's happening outside BWW. After insulting me about age. Charming.
Synthesized orchestrations make me want to throw myself from the mezzanine.
Mandy Patinkin has such a sweet singing voice.
I find the music and lyrics to Catch Me If You Can and Next to Normal boring and flat (especially for their interesting subject matter).
Matilda should've won the Tony award over Kinky Boots for best musical, score, and actor (sorry Billy).
Newsies was surprisingly awful and corny.
I had a fun time seeing Motown... even though it was pretty terrible.
The new Phantom tour is fantastic.
Fun Home has a phenomenal score that gets better the more you listen to it.
Finding Neverland looks completely uninteresting.
Shrek the musical is simply atrocious and I almost ignored Fun Home because of it.
Some of the classics are so dated that they're unwatchable.
Sunday in the Park with George should've won best musical over La Cage Aux Folles.
I secretly want The First Wives to transfer to Broadway haha. I thought the promo looked great!!
Y'all need to learn what controversial is.

I loved FWC in Chicago (funny and catchy music), unfortunately I don't think this will transfer to Broadway anytime soon. It seemed dated and there are just a lot more shows in 2015-2016 season that are maybe more interesting. The theater was also not full when I watched, lots of empty seats in the orchestra, more so in mezz and balc.

" ScottyDoesn'tKnow2 - Freedom of speech."
The First Amendment does say Congress cannot pass a law that impedes upon one's freedom of speech. So it basically covers government action. However, even that is not absolute as there are exceptions to that based on compelling state interests. However, that does not apply to this privately-owned forum, generally.
I know that was not the point you were making. Rather, you wanted to freely express yourself without criticism, but if you think you have a right to say what you want then obviously, people have a right to comment on what you've written.
I only brought it up because you wrote "checks constitution" and I wanted to make sure you understood what the Constitution said because it didn't really make sense with the point you were making.

It's a metaphor...
(I know, it's less than brilliant )
-Michael Yeargan's set designs for THE KING AND I and SOUTH PACIFIC are better than the original designs.
-CARRIE isn't the worst musical around.
-When it comes to revising books for musical revivals, only Douglas Carter Beane seems to know what the heck he's doing. CINDERELLA was good enough for me, I'm looking at you FLOWER DRUM SONG and GIGI's new books!
-ALLEGRO deserves a revival before we have ones for OKLAHOMA! and CAROUSEL.
Xanadu is unequivocally the worst show I have ever had the misfortune of seeing.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one sick and tired of Hamilton, and Lin-Manuel, always on social media about what famous people saw the show that night. We're happy for you, but for god's sakes, we get it. Stop rubbing our faces into it with these daily selfies like this is some special party we'll never get invited to, at least until July.
On a related note, if the Public really cared about new audiences getting to see that show back before it was officially Broadway-bound, they'd offer more than a few seats a show to the lottery/rush kids, instead of letting half the house be held by the producers to give or sell to their A-list friends, or Broadway folks with an in with the cast.
Sometimes when I see someone very young who is in love with Sondheim, I doubt that they have seen all of his shows. I adored Sondheim, until I actually started going to Sondheim musicals.
Neil Patrich Harris has such artifice in his acting and not in a good way. Hedwig was a star turn which distracted from the actual character.

I thought The Producers and Spamalot was overrated.
I loved Book of Mormon the first time I saw it, not so much the second.
It's Only a Play (with Nathan Lane) was really good despite the reviews.
I ate my twin in the womb.
I have found musicals by Kander & Ebb and Stephen Sondheim to be thoughtful and interesting (the darker the subject matter, the more I like the show) even if they a re not the "best" musicals of the season.
I LOVE me some Kristin Chenoweth, but HOPE Kelli O'Hara gets her due this year with a Tony Award.
I think critics should be truthful and constructive but not harsh.
It bothers me how well The Illusionists did, and I hope Broadway doesn't see many more things like that
