You are absolutely right. I wasn't there. I'm just trying to think very logical. We've all encoutered rudeness in our lives. When I worked with her in Aug/Sept of 2000, I never saw it.
What year was this that you attended The Kennedy Center? Who was honored. It's such an elegant night of television when it's on every December. That and The Tonys are the best shows on tv.
Unfortunately, there are people who get into a different mindset when they enter a theatre....have to be the first one to leave, I'll talk during the show, etc. I saw "Curtains" yesterday here in LA and just as the show was ending, an entire group of people in my row, got up and left just as the curtain call was starting. Go figure?
Are you trying to tell me I live in a Norma Desmond world where nothing is true, that I laugh and cry when I spill tomato sauce on the wall in the shape of Barbra's nose? ARE YOU?
And let's just say--for kicks and giggles--that Barbra Streisand Hates Audra McDonald.
Why are any of you people talking about it? This theoretical animosity is a personal enmity between two people. Unless any of you are Barbra Streisand or Audra McDonald--shut the hell up and live your own lives.
And if you ARE Barbra and Audra--c'mon girls, don't hash this out on the boards: it's really tacky.

Even if it was true, which I seriously doubt.....NO ONE can comment on anything that they don't know anything about!
Zoneace, I worked with Barbra for 2 months, she was never a BIATCH to me or anyone else on the production team. If Barbra were a man, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. Again, that's the power of the written word. Just because someone said it or wrote it, doesn't make it true.
well *I* heard that babs tried to give audra Pop Rocks and Coke so she'd explode! but audra knew better because she heard about that "hey he likes it, it's mikey!" kid and *his* tragedy...
"Even if it was true, which I seriously doubt.....NO ONE can comment on anything that they don't know anything about!"
Really? No one? Isn't that like half of what happens on BWW.com? Why are you even wasting your breath...or fingers or whatever. Just let people gossip about what they want to gossip about. And by the way... isn't you saying you it didn't happen... a little bit like commenting on something you don't actually know anything about?
Feinstein, *I* heard that Audra did indeed drink the pop rocks and coke, and she DID explode. It should be in the news tomorrow or something.
"People that excel in the arts understand that the journey is the reward...the result an added bonus. Every day I act or train is a blessing and a dream come true. If Broadway beckons so be it. I have a personal definition of success that is unshakable by a possibly unobtainable goal." -HamletWasBipolar
Oh who cares? Let's just stay locked up for another half an hour. The police are on their way and there are two dead bodies in the study!

Hahahaha - glad somebody got it! That quote has gotten me out of SO many uncomfortable situations. It's a great tension breaker!

"Colonel Mustard: This is WAR Peacock! Casualties are inevitable. You can't make an omelette without breakin' eggs. Every cook will tell you that!

Love that movie :P
As for the actual discussion, I think it's silly that everyone is gettin up in arms. I have never met Barbra, nor have I met Audra. However I'm sure that both women have their moments of kindness and consideration, as well as times they are both diva bitches. It's part of the entertainment lifestyle. I couldn't imagine any talented person going their entire career without once acting stuck up or nasty. Bumping into Barbra and getting scoffed at does not make her the devil incarnate. Perhaps she DID think that you bumped into her. Nor does having a pleasant stage-door experience make Audra a kind-hearted, down-to-earth, humbled performer. Every rose has its thorns, even the ones with perfect pitch. My only point is there is no sense choosing not to like a performer based on the gossip you hear about them as a person. Unless it's Mel Gibson...
I hold a degree in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. It is useless. Now I'm funny for money. Oh, and I sing.
isn't it also possible, that Barbra just didn't like the performance of Audra in Masterclass? I mean, people have opinions, that doesn't mean, they hate the person. They just don't like the performance of that person in that play....just a thought.
I sometimes watch a show and don't like the performer, although the perfomer is pretty talented.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
