Since we have a "Worst Show Poster" thread, why not have a Best Show Poster thread?
For me, I think that Hairspray and The Light in the Piazza both had great posters. Both get the message across very simply, and are very appealing to me.
So what do you guys think?

Posted: 2/26/06 at 5:48pmMiss Saigon is pretty brilliant, with its hidden quality, but the crack in the Follies statue on the Follies poster is brilliant and makes is the absolute best.

Phantom.
It's simple, but gets the point across with the allure of the show.

Smaxie, i LOVE the Nanette poster.
I also think Miss Saigon's is brilliant, as well as Carrie's. I've always thought Cats had a great poster too (as much as i hate the show)I also like the poster for the revival of Once Upon a Mattress w/ Sarah Jessica Parker.

i like the "wicked" poster- i just remember the first time i saw it how mesmerized with it, and i dunno, it really makes you wonder (with the whole "before dorothy dropped in" thing), and wanna see the show!
i also love LITP, too- very, very beautiful, just like the show!

I love the ships-as-eyes artwork for the recent Pacific Overtures revival. Just lovely. It's not one of my favorite shows at all, but I bought the poster just for my cube at work. I thought most posters from previous Pacific Overtures productions were just awful.

I like the Las Vegas Mamma Mia poster a lot more than the normal one. I wish they actually sold it as a seperate poster though.

Posted: 2/26/06 at 7:58pmI have to agree, the POTO window card is simple, elegant and gothic. Totally fits the theme of the show. My other fave is Crazy for You. It's kindy corny, but so was the show! Last but not least...42nd ST because it's made up of the chorus girls...the heart and soul of any dance show!!

I don't know if I'd go so far as to say it's my favorite of all time, but I love the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels poster. It sums up the entire plot of the show in one elegant graphic. And it's so art deco - I love it.
I also really like the La Cage revival poster - it grabs your attention with all that pink but stays true to the show's style.
Did The Last Five Years ever have a poster? I love the photo on the CD cover - especially how it changes perspective from the front to the back.
