The Premium seats being offered right now suck ass. I'll wait till the week I want to go to get my tickets. I end up with fantastic seats last minute since they're Premium seats that no one tends to buy. No sweat.

This will only work of course if it doesn't sell out. I can't tell if there is a high demand here or limited supply. When I was looking at some dates across two different performances I was offered the exact same orchestra seats by default....co-incidence? Or have they withheld some seats?
I got bumped out initially, but ended up with 2nd row center mezz for April 7 and 8 (single tickets). I had them select seats. It took about 15 minutes total.

Was able to get front row center mezzanine for Sunday May 7th. So glad it wasn't priced at premium (even though it's more than I ever spent on a ticket). Now the 7 month wait!
Searching for a single ticket, I've just looked through all performances from Oct 7-21, and the EXACT same 4 Orchestra seats* are the ONLY ones available at EVERY performance. So, it's obvious that Telecharge is only releasing a few seats at a time. (Absolutely no single seats show in the Mezz for any performance I checked.) Since I don't care for the 4 seats that are offered*, I'm not going to sweat it and will check later.
*Row C [Regular], way to the side, Left Orch; Row H, Center Orch [Premium], and 2 different in Row M [Regular in Center Orch and Premium in Left Orch - which makes no logical sense].
Snagged the last two on the aisle in the orchestra (non-premium) for the night after opening, my favorite night to go because there's so much excitement on the stage and in the house.

I got a single front row mezz for the final show available (playing the long game, just in case that is Bette's last day... heh.)

There seems to be no problem finding rear balcony seats. I've been testing the waters by selecting various Saturday nights and matinees, and every single one they've offered me Seat G101 in Rear Balcony. Considering taking it for Mermorial Day weekend...

Was SO much easier doing it on the mobile app- nothing was coming up on the desktop site
This is ridiculous.
I'm waiting till they release more seats.
This is so irritating.
Can you image the frenzy if they actually advertised that tickets were going on sale today?
I nabbed a great seat for the summer, and I really want one for the spring but the whole site is down now.

If it sells out? On what planet is this NOT going to sell out?!

Disregard what I said before, that was on the Broadway site and I saw they included huge fees. Sorry, I'm new at htis, but sheesh, I do NOT want to pay $107 just for a rear balcony seat. Didn't realize I need to check the Telecharge site, not Broadway.com. Harsh lesson but at least I hadn't spent my money yet!
Edit: Never mind, on Telecharge with fees, the cheapest I can get for balcony seats is $111, and those are on the aisle. I can get center balcony seats on Broadway for $107. Guess that's what I'm gonna have to do.
I got front row balcony for the second night of previews. I wanted to be closer ( I usually have front row) but I won't spend that much money on tickets to anything. The last time I was in the balcony at the Shubert was for the opening night of "A Chorus Line".
This may be the single most irritating thing I've ever done in my life.
I have tried to buy two front row balcony seats on my birthday (May 10th). I have tried to purchase these now ELEVEN times. The seats have never disappeared. Hell, they are STILL there. When it is processing my payment it stops and says due to unusual activity my purchase couldn't be made.
DONE DONE DONE DONE
And I tried it on my laptop and phone multiple times.
Is anyone able to get through online right now?

Earlier on the website, it claimed tickets would be available at the Shubert box office on a date TBD...
Am I better off waiting? Were lots of tickets held back?

Yes...
That's bizarre; I can't even pull up the site on the two laptops and two phones I have right now.

Yes. As is always the case, lots of seat locations aren't made available the first onsale date. More are released AND better seat locations which is why I'm holding off. As for the show selling out completely? Um, that ain't happening. Her entire run in the play I'LL EAT YOU LAST at the small Booth Theatre was never sold out.

After an hour and 20 minutes on hold, I got a ticket for the first preview!

I'll Eat You Last is a one woman play and hardly a known entity. I don't think it's fair to use that production's performance at the box office as a barometer for the ticket sales of a musical property as beloved as Dolly. The title aside, the fact that it's a musical should make a huge difference.
