Colored Girls might as well call it a day, yikes
Hangmen seems in trouble.
After opening to raves curious to see if The Minutes picks up
POTUS and A Strange Loop off to shakey starts but word of mouth will hopefully help
Mr Saturday Night not looking so hot

I really hope Beetlejuice maintains this and outlasts Music Man (which we know will close sooner than later when Hugh leaves). I've still yet to see the show, love an underdog story.

I could absolutely see The Music Man trying to do a stunt replacement with another big name if it wins best revival, keep in mind Hello Dolly as a recent example

Music Man is NOT winning Best Revival. I could even see it as the likeliest revival to not be nominated!
I just don't know how much the raves will help all these struggling plays. Even if some of them double their grosses, they won't be making money (Colored Girls, Skin, Hangmen, HILTD, Minutes. Gonna leave Potus out of the convo for right now because it didn't play a full week.) There are so many plays right now that they might sort of cancel each other out and nobody does very well with a couple of rare exceptions.
Mr. Saturday Night is already softening after a rush of full-priced tickets at early performances.
The numbers for Mr. Saturday Night are just embarrassing. Will it even make it through the summer?

Mr Saturday Night would be smart to do in person rush, also if the show is still running, figure out how Billy Crystal hosts the TONY awards and get buzz that way

Doubtful. The word-of-mouth isn't good.

I wonder what the salary structure is for Billy, as both author and star.
Common sense would tell us that as an actor, he's making about $100K a week + a cut of the box office (plus fees and points as the author and source material)...but he could be taking a lower salary in favor of more points on the backend (and could agree to lower or waive his salary if the going gets rough).

Mr Saturday Night seems like a passion project that I am sure he would be willing to take a pay cut so it doesnt come off as a bust, I dont know what regional life it could really have without him involved but who knows

I just hope both productions will recoup.

A number of the shows with low capacity numbers are still in previews- and some just started them. Are low numbers during this period a huge concern? Some potential audience members might want to wait until all the kinks are worked out before going to see a show, and thus wait until after opening.

That's the biggest problem with this show. It's barely a functional musical without Billy Crystal in it.
If it were marginally better, it would be a fun throwback to something you might have seen in the sixties. Nobody's reviving star vehicles like FOXY or HAPPY HUNTING or DO RE MI or COCO these days.

The more likely situation is that sustainable numbers of audience members simply don't know that these shows exist, or they know but do not care. Very safe to assume these shows don't have robust advance sales post-opening. We're talking about plays without stars, which have finite audiences and don't command full-priced premium tickets. There's usually only room for 1-2 "breakout hit" plays each season.
I can’t imagine Little Prince lasting it’s full run. For Colored Girls may be a surprise hit with a few Tony nominations. I think a “Best Play Revival” nod will help for sure.
Mr. Saturday Night is definitely seeing the cost of its preview price hubris now.
One thing I will say is that A LOT of these shows, especially the newer ones, aren’t advertising much. I usually watch ABC-7 (NYC/NJ) in the morning and they are often the channel that has the most commercials for Broadway shows, but I’m only really seeing the plugs for Beetlejuice, Come From Away, Company. Aladdin, Dear Evan Hansen, and Wicked.
Even shows that had a ton of ads in the past aren’t really advertising much - like MJ, Chicago, Book of Mormon, and Hadestown.
Would Once Upon a One More Time be a better fit for the Lunt-Fontanne or the Nederlander? It’s really a question right now of which show will close first (Tina or Mr. Saturday Night).
I think it depends upon the design of the show. I saw it in DC and the weakest element and the one that was criticized most was the set design. Hopefully it will be redone for NYC.

I'm leaning toward Mr. Saturday Night. Maybe an in-person rush can help ticket sales? Although they are offering lottery tickets through Broadway Direct.
I believe Real Woman Have Curves is slated for the Booth after Colored Girls.

I don’t need a Barry Diller cash cow production to recoup. It will, but i don’t hope it does.

Out of curiosity, I looked at ticket sales for Mr. Saturday Night next week. Two thoughts: (2) Boy, have they lowered ticket prices; and (2) The producers clearly had unrealistic expectations about Billy Crystal's box office draw when they established the original ticket pricing strategy. It has been a long, long time since 700 Sundays. I wonder if its advance would have been a lot more if they had charged reasonable prices originally. This show hasn't even opened, but is clearly going to be a financial bomb. When you think about it, it is almost a vanity production...it is not as if the original movie was a hit.
I'll bet he would have done a lot better business, and probably been a lot happier playing to crowded theatres in a revival of The Sunshine Boys, with an equally famous (or almost as famous) co-star. I love Billy Crystal, but that title (I thought the movie sucked) and those prices were a non-starter. Now,e ait's a non-starter for different reasons.

Over the weekend I saw repeated commercials for Company, Come From Away, MJ, Book of Mormon, Hadestown, Aladdin, A Strange Loop, Mr. Saturday Night, and For Colored Girls.

Then you haven't seen Funny Girl.
I haven’t seen POTUS advertise that much and am surprised they aren’t capitalizing on Vanessa Williams’s fame.

Those Harry Potter’s numbers are really great, arent they? I remember when the play was made less than 1M per week, I guess the one-part thing really helped, right?
And I need to see Plaza Suite and Macbeth doing 8 shows a week to show who has the biggest power between Craig and SJP hahaha
Those non-stars plays are suffering. I mean, American Buffalo is doing ok business but the rest…
