Would love to know how many of those $799 tickets for the final “Funny Girl” actually sold.
Seems like the only remarkable number to look at was OUAOMT’s closing. Their best week of the whole run (I think), but they still couldn’t sell out the house.
If they had pulled that as a weekly gross and capacity on a regular basis, they may have stood a chance going into fall. (A small one, but one nevertheless)

Wow, great week for pretty much all shows!
Hopefully, The Shark Is Broken has found its small, but nevertheless, audience.
@Jordan Catalano: I'm more curious who's the poor soul who bought a $297 ticket for Once Upon....
Funny Girl's final week: $2,137,057
Imagine what that number would have been if Lea had not had to miss the first 3 shows of the final week?
A good week across the board! Not too much to discuss though. Every show closed out summer well.

I regret not buying one of them. Based on the videos, that was a once in a lifetime event.
This past Tuesday when Lea called out there seemed to be only few of us getting our money back. Out of curiosity I would love to know what percentage asked for a refund. The price difference between a Lea show and a Julie show was substantial.
I cannot see Here Lies Love continue to chug along at those grosses. It had, nearly, all summer to find its audience and it just isn't there.

The seats I bought for it were originally $799 but a week later had been drastically reduced in price, although by that point I did notice a LOT of those had been sold.

What a great week. Although, I do still worry about Here Lies Love!

They must have sold a few because the gross was the virtually the same as the week before even with Julie Benko filling in which lowered capacity.

No ifs - the show failed. On every level. Now it's gone. Life is better.

It's an odd spot. They are below their nut, but they aren't OUAOMT levels of money hemorrhaging. I think now would be the time for them to get on the talk shows for performances to get the show more out there. I know they did some interviews early on, but that doesn't speak to the material itself and people might want to get a hint of what they are seeing. I could EASILY see mostly stationary (meaning not ones that cover the entire theatre) numbers like "Child of The Phillipines", "Opposite Attraction", and maybe the curtain call medley playing well on screen.
I will say there were some decent pockets of the mezzanine empty tonight, but even more was that the dance floor had MANY gaps to the point where I could dance and not hit anyone near me.(and considering I'm a long-limbed man, that's quite a feat).

This feels like a big problem in making sure the audience "buzz" is there in the standing section. I wouldn't have minded fewer people around me -- the floor is packed when they're at capacity. But they might be realizing the limitations of this level of interaction.
Just anecdotally, when Sitting vs Standing comes up in talking to others who've seen it, very few people are describing the standing experience as essential. I enjoyed it. But when I go again I'll be sitting in the mezz.
And these are just some of HLL's problems, which we've discussed on another thread about the WOM being not as enthusiastic as at the Public.

Getting on these shows is super hard. The Today Show and GMA and The View can book the biggest stars in the world, so they can pick and choose.
Maybe, the actor strike will help more Broadway shows get on this big TV shows who need guests.
Plus, the musical has to pay all the costs. A performance on The Today Show can cost $30,000!!!!

Great closing number for OUAOMT!
Next shows to close are Here lies love, SLIH & A beautiful noise (which is already struggling)
How does the SAG strike change who goes to broadway? I don't see people that aren't getting new material on the sources they ALREADY pay for thinking, "no new shows? Let me go spend more money in NY." And right now, I don't think anyone has run out of new material they havent seen. New movies are still being released, new episodes of shows are still dropping. And there are dozens of streaming shows people haven't discovered. Heck, my young adult son seldom watches televised series at all...YouTube crap, chess and video games are his diversions.

Sad, but I don’t think you’re wrong in your prediction. I forgot A Beautiful Noise was even still around!
FYI, A Beautiful Noise sold out their Thursday matinee today.

Coming back to this thread because this show seems to be allergic to performing any of its numbers outside of the theatre. They do so many TV appearances, but have never once performed. I was just at the Curtain Up Festival in Times Square and they had Moses, Jasmine, and Reanne there just to TALK about the show. Between the three of them they could do Men Will Do Anything, Just Ask Flowers, or God Draws Straight, but instead they just stood and talked. It’s just so weird. They did TV performances when it was Off-Broadway, why not now?
