Ahh I think you're right--I think I've read that somewhere too. And those take up to 14 days to appear. Alright. I'm fine for now. I am still on edge about he whole thing but a little less worried about my particular case. Thank you!"
I was in the mezz Saturday night as well. I swear the woman who seated me said she was working both sides of the mezz because someone had called in.

Everyone on the planet should be concerned, regardless if they were at the Booth on Saturday night or not."
Yes of course. I just meant should I be thinking about getting tested since I was at that theater and was sitting the mezzanine that night."
I'm right there with you. I was in the Mezzanine last Thursday. I don't have any symptoms so I am just waiting it out.

Legit same. I hate 2020. Remember when it started out with us worrying about the death of a top Iranian general leading to WWIII? And nothing happened? Yeah...

at least had we had the war, I could control going to sign up and fighting for the country if I felt warranted. With this I just feel helpless and feel like it's just getting worse before we can even begin to get better. Who knows though, I think I need to start reading positive stuff. This is depressing me

Posted: 3/13/20 at 11:06pmI work on Broadway, but my show should be able to bounce back from this closure, assuming it only lasts the 30 days.. but in our speculation, many shows will be unable to reopen come April 12th, the loss in ticket sales, combined with the theater rents, and all the losses the industry receives (poor future sales, no word of mouth, etc) might just be too much for most shows to combat. And it all sucks. For everyone. Whether your show reopens or not. As an avid theatergoer, who is now unemployed for 30 days, it’s a really tough pill to swallow. I understand this was for the best. But the impacts of this decision are going to completely change the broadway landscape come April 13th. Stay safe everyone.

Coronavirus Can Live in Patients for Five Weeks After Contagion
For those lucky enough not to be living through the Italian lockdown, pay attention: What’s happening in Milan, Florence and Rome offers a likely preview of what’s coming to New York, London or Paris in a week or two

I heard someone say today, albeit somewhat awkwardly expressed, that every generation experiences one or two major shockwaves like this that remind people of all we take for granted.
It reminded me how easy it is to unknowingly become complacent about even the simplest things like washing my hands correctly, knowing the names and contact info for all my immediate neighbors in case of an emergency, or maintaining a basic supply of groceries that would sustain me if I was incapacitated for an extended period of time.
Organizations can fall into the same lull and overspend when sales are great, fail to allocate monies for emergency reserves, not have a clear crisis communication plan, et al.

DuhBlasio needs to wake up now!!!
School closures of 8 weeks or more may better mitigate coronavirus spread, CDC says

Infected people without symptoms might be driving the spread of coronavirus more than we realized

May I ask your source for this? Not being snarky, but I’ve been looking for this info and I’m curious where it can be found.

I read a report that suggested a few weeks of virus shedding after a person with covid recovers from symptoms. This has NOT yet been published in a peer-reviewed journal but I am keeping my eyes open for this.

I'm a member at one of the suburban clubs and had a similar discussion this morning. I think it's inevitable they'll close sometime over the next week. My club was pretty empty though.

It's only been 3 days, and depends on exactly what expenditures each show has during the shutdown. Also, shows that were already struggling, or doing just ok, portions ply won bet name it, since advance sales will be down significantly, and it will take a while floor tourism to pick back up.

My guess is that Broadway in general will be closed at least through May. The April date was just arbitrary and a date to work off of.
I would like to suggest that City Center include Live Life is their summer schedule if the theatre reopens.

BREAKING
SAN FRAN SHUTTING DOWN FOR 3 WEEKS... 24-Hr Curfew Starts Tonight
San Francisco is going the way of Italy with its coronavirus safety measures -- the Mayor's instituting around-the-clock curfew, banning almost everyone from leaving their homes.
Mayor London Breed announced what she calls a "defining moment" in U.S. response to the pandemic. Beginning at 12 AM, all residents within the city can only leave home for doctor's appointments or runs to the grocery store.
It's the strictest new policy enacted in the nation, and matches the current rules in Italy ... which has been the 2nd hardest-hit country in the world.
The Mayor says the rule will remain in effect for at least the next 3 weeks.
IS NYC Next??????

If people continue being irresponsible and not staying in their homes, yes, it's next. I expect a nationwide shutdown for a week or two, I know that's being discussed in DC.
