Paid by CC. They did not suggest me sending back the tickets. I gladly would have. I asked multiple times if they could contact the theater which they can, to explain the situation just to reschedule and release the seats not a refund but they said it wouldn’t help. I just happen to be in the city a few weeks ago and bought the tkts @ box office to save fees. But it looks like those fees would have saved me in the end.
Re: The McKittrick
SNM is all about profit, by any means possible.
They won't refund or credit unless they're forced.

I understand, my wife is a clinical nurse supervisor and she does not have a choice either.

I will believe it when I see it. I know a major tennis tournament in California has been cancelled.

Thanks HGR2. I live in Canada, and was planning a trip to NYC end of April/early May (conference). I learned today that due to a variety of issues and new rules, that I needed to cancel my tripon account of Coronavirus. Just calledTelecharge and received refunds for:Mrs. Doubtfire, Diana, WSS, and LSOH. Called Ticketmaster, and they won’t ask theatre for my refund for Moulin Rougeuntil 2 weeks prior to the event. I think I need to go have a few drinks to numb my disappointment—I was SO looking forward to these shows, particularly, second row centre orchestra for Moulin Rouge, and seeingJeremy Jordan in LSOH. Health is number one, though. It is, what it is.

I’m also still schedule for my yearly trip the last week of April. At this point I’m not cancelling anything. A lot can change in 7 weeks. I’m also in Canada and we have been actively dealing with this for nearly 2 months now. My family is currently travelling and they are taking all suggested precautions. I’ll wait until broadway closes or a travel ban to the US is put in place. Thankfully I have paid sick time (thank you Canada) so I think that is slowing the spread here as people who are sick are staying home.

Everyone needs to relax. The Broadway League has already stated they won't shut down Broadway until forced to do so by the government. Of course, this pretty much negates their statement that the health and safety of cast, crew, and audience is their highest priority. But it is what it is.

We have paid sick time here in the USA too.

Higher paid workers have paid sick leave in the US, and even then significantly less than 100%

Ok. I'm a higher paid worker so. My point was it's not a Canada thing like BwayinVan thinks.

It definitely depends on your job. I have no clue what my company's plan is in regards to individual quarantines or store shutdown. Like I personally do have tons of sick time because I never get sick enough to stay home. But, a lot of my coworkers are not as lucky. Plus, I don't know if we would be allowed to use it.

Same as me. I have sick leave but no clue if I could use it.

Are these new government policies in Seattle and San Francisco impacting the Broadway touring theaters there? I would imagine so but I don't see a lot of discussion about this on social media.
That’s why they need to institute an emergency unemployment program for temporary wage reduction immediately. The longer this goes on companies will have to start reduction of staff especially in tourism areas. Hotels in nyc are running at 50% capacity now and it will get worse as this spreads. Not to mention retail, sports and concerts too. These concession workers are paid hourly with many of these people needing this secondary income.
According to someone on the Broadway reddit sub, a FOH staff member at the Booth tested positive for COVID.
And tomorrow Scott Rudin is selling all tickets to Virginia Woolf for $50 hmmm...?

”Everyone needs to relax?” Some people are canceling their trips, not because they are concerned/worried/think the league will close broadway houses—several on here are forced to cancel, in response to their government- and work-related policies and rules.

That's fine, but in my opinion that's nonsense. These restrictions are necessary (though a bit too late) to try and minimize the spread, but people's selfish refusal to heed any of the warnings or advice because they want to see Patti LuPone in Company just makes things worse. One attorney alone is believed to be responsible for at least 50 cases of the Coronavirus infection in New York. It is asymptomatic, so you can spread it without even knowing you have it. So by all means, complain about unpaid sick leave. That's a legitimate concern. But no one cares that you can't see Mrs. Doubtfire now because your government is trying to prevent the spread of the virus by restricting travel.

Wow, and I believe the receipt usually has the seat locations on them. Maybe they're afraid of fraud if someone else stole your belongings? Either way, I'm shocked they didn't offer you any alternative aside from past-dating.

By sacrifice, you mean people daily/basic livelihoods and their ability to pay their rent, bills, groceries, literally just LIFE. Cool.

This. Society has been so quick to clamor "shut it down" without thinking of the ramifications. I'm not saying do nothing, and I'm not stating that some things shouldn't close. I am stating that each and every decision like this has way more repercussions that people realize.

Yes. If it is something you can do without, it's not a sacrifice. During the government shutdown, landlords were mandated to allow their tenants (who worked for the government) to accept late rent payments; credit card companies and utilities were similarly mandated. This is different insomuch that there is no back income, to make up the deficit, but it is important to slow this pandemic, since the initial inept government response is part of the reason it spread so fast.

Chill out Fosse. I actually agree with everything you just said. My point is that there are a variety of reasons for why people have canceled or are considering cancelling, their trips.
