While Broadway gets ready for its next revival of Death of Salesman, London’s West End is gearing up for a new production of its own with a Tony-winning actor/playwright in the role of Willy Loman!
The James Earl Jones Theatre doesn’t yet have a show announced for this spring post-Liberation… Might a certain Oscar winner be bringing his London stage debut, The Fear of 13, stateside this season?
We understand Titanique will be taking up residence at the St. James Theatre this spring. Will it swim or sink on Broadway? We think swim…

The British board had said Fear would transfer - sounds very good so looking forward to that.
Curious to see how Titanique goes.

Titanique at the St James seems absolutely insane to me. I enjoyed the show downtown, but the St James is a huge house to fill. If true I'm guessing they will close the balcony?

Immediate flop.

Titanique at the St James is truly so unbelievably unhinged.
We used to joke about Heathers making this transfer when it was originally Off Broadway - and now it’s actually happening with Titanique.
You can’t make this sh*t up.

Who is rumored to be Willy Loman in London? I am guessing we are talking about the Frecknall/Mescal NT upcoming production...

Could it be Tracy Letts as Loman?

That's my assumption.

It'd be an interesting quirk of the season if we had two different British imports about convicts.

I heard rumblings from someone involved in a production of Titanique that producers were eyeing Broadway, but that was a few months ago and wondered if there was anything to it. Now i'm seeing it from Oracle and now here.
It seems crazy to come to Broadway, but it is doing well on the West End, even picking up some Olivier Awards.
This particular season seems dull enough that maybe, just maybe if they open they would be able to snag some Tony's (or Tonys, I always forget and I know someone will correct me.)
I would assume Marla would open the show, hoping to get that Tony?
The show is not coming to Broadway people. No one is winning a Tony for it. The show played half houses off Broadway. This is another Forbidden Broadway stunt. Let the show rest
Isn't Frecknall's Saleman not until 2027?
Even if the reviews for Fear of 13 were tepid, I loved that production and Brody was fantastic.

"let the show rest" as if we're the ones pushing for it to come to Broadway... we're having a discussion, in a discussion board.
Move along.

That is what the Arthur Miller Society says.

I’m not sure what makes you all so confident.
I’m hearing (outside of the sources in the OP) it is indeed happening.
I had a blast at Titanique Off-Bway. But even its “upscaled” productions in London and Paris only had 580 and 850 seats respectively.
The only way this could make some money is if the Broadway run is the tour launch and they are jointly capitalized and built to move. Which is what this producer did for Oklahoma, and that recouped, but the attempts to do the same for The Wiz did not pay off. And maybe that’s the justification for a barn?? 10 weeks on Broadway then hit the road? Even so, a huge risk for a show that has not been super profitable to date.
Yeah, the St James is the fifth largest Broadway house (though the difference between it and the 2nd largest, the Broadway, is only about 50 seats). It’s just huge and Titanique is a show that just had a very recent, decently lengthy run. I just really cannot imagine it selling short of an “OMG” level star casting.
The one thing Titanique has going for it potentially playing in a house that large is that Celine Dion’s songs absolutely go off. If they added a couple more members of the band and snagged a killer Celine (or even a Ruth), the music would hit and I don’t think any of the humor would be lost in a Broadway house. It played even better on the West End than Off-Broadway, for me, so I wouldn’t be mad at a Broadway run. Confused, sure, but not mad.

Why would a star go into this? Someone else originated the role in NY and it is a limited run. Jim Parsons has the offer....let's see what he decides. Either way good luck raising money for this and the other limited run going into the Majestic! Theater owners will be covering a lot of under raising going on....hearing there are cats and bats and joes that are coming up short.

Maybe they hired the real Celine to play herself. That would sell tickets.

And now rumors of Beaches going into Majestic as jumpstart to their fall national tour. Oye.

That totally ran through my mind.

Geez. I really thought Beaches was DOA. But if it's to do Broadway, I guess this is the season to jump on in.
