It sounded like he no longer is but that’s the first I’d heard of it so I was curious if it lined up with any other rumors.
Apparently they also wanted the Hirschfeld but were beat by something else (not Rouge).

Is this happening this fall still?
I don't know, but recent Insta stories from the cast make me nervous. They just seem... as though they don't see much set up for them career wise in the near future if that makes sense? Very much hope that Im wrong about that feeling tho.

In her NYTimes feature, Rachel Hauck is working on a Jellical Ball model. Although it looks identical to the downtown production.

Am I missing something? I don’t see a picture of the Jellicle Ball model in that article.

In her Manhattan studio, Hauck is at work on mini sets of two shows, “Cats: The Jellicle Ball” and “The Amazing Mr. X.”Credit...Sabrina Santiago for The New York Times
Yes, I saw that. But that picture definitely doesn’t leave me thinking “it looks identical to the downtown production.” There isn’t enough to see there to claim that.

I'm comparing the photo of the Cats set to the off-Broadway photos and I actually think that is the paint elevation of the wall from the off-Bway run. The proportions, number of windows and corner 'cut-outs' certainly look identical to me

If it's not happening, then I wonder why. Such a bummer, if true.

It’s definitely still happening. Their social media has been constant throughout this awards season. I was just saying I didn’t see a set model. Didn’t mean to imply it wasn’t happening.
Playbill reported that it was announced at The Tonys last night, but I dont seen any evidence of that? Jonathan Burke (Mungojerrie) did repost it on Insta tho...
So they played the promo on the Monitors during commercial, so still just hints but with the cast and creative posting about it then it feels official. Is it still planned for the Wintergarden? Mamma Mia is slated to be there 6 months...
Why would they wait for the Winter Garden specifically? Because of the seat count? That theatre is so wide I don't see how it would be better? Would they do a whole reno like what was done for Cabaret?
I have so many questions.
Well, they very conspicuously did not mention either timing or a theatre.

Yes, it was announced during one of the commercial breaks on the monitors inside that Cats @ The Jellicle Ball is getting more life... I didn't see much else said other than the ad for it however. It was on the screens on the sides after some of the childhood dancing/singing videos.
Frankly, between this and MASQUERADE’s never-ending “teases,” I am exhausted. They’ve been teasing both for so damn long that the marketing for both productions feels sloppy and is becoming ineffective, in my opinion.
Announce something firm already!
