They have not announced any kind of rush policy yet.

There is no future, there is no past. I live this moment as my last. ~ Rent
If they're gonna try to make it more like the movie, I wonder if all of the children's fate songs ("Auf Wiedersehen, Augustus Gloop", "Juicy!", "Veruca's Nutcracker Sweet", and "Vidiots" will be overhauled to have the "Oompa Loompa Doompity Doo" structure a la in the movies.
I really can't wait to hear feedback. I am almost certain i will buy tickets for when I am in NYC this summer-my daughter loves the story and I am a really big CB fan. However I have dragged my feet on getting tickets since I'm kind of waiting to see what the reviews are like.
I guess I'm in the minority here but I'm actually really looking forward to this; mostly because I love that the team of Hairspray is behind it. I also love Christian Borle & I tend to like the un-popular movie-turned-musical shows hah (The Addams Family, Sister Act, Shrek, Legally Blonde).
Jack O'Brien is a director who often does a lot of changes in previews. I am curious to read how the show will change over the preview period.
"It does what a musical is supposed to do; it takes you to another world. And it gives you a little tune to carry in your head. Something to take you away from the dreary horrors of the real world. A little something for when you're feeling blue. You know?"

Well just about every, if not all, of those ad videos from last year have a whistled "Oompa Loompa" at the end, so I assume that will be there. I seriously doubt they could use it without paying a lot for those rights, only to not use them in the show. Just my thoughts.
I'm quite looking forward to it, actually it was those videos that got me to that point. I had kept forgetting about as well and every time I did hear of it, I was quite neutral about it, I didn't care one way or the other. I think it's because the 71 film is all so ingrained in our heads, it will difficult to separate these two. But after seeing the vids and then Borle's casting, got me pumped. I'd never thought until last fall about how this book in general never got the fully fledged Broadway musical treatment until now, apart from the mini ones MTI licenses. Dahl books lend themselves so well to being musicals when one thinks about it, especially this one. It just screams big, candy colored, musical. The casting of adults as kids put me off at first, but I don't mind it nearly as much anymore. I still find it a bit odd, since you still have Charlie, but are they really that young to need four of them? I suppose it's a Matilda situation since Charlie is...the lead after all.
