Though I'm expecting these will mostly be raves, I'm hoping some reviews will take note of the show's presentational nature (rather than dramatic), which I found problematic.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
"That’s why this musical is so suited to this particular moment. Not as a mournful reminder of who we all might have been for one another, but who we are all meant to be."

"... If that sounds cynical, perhaps New Yorkers may be permitted a bit of side-eye about a work that borrows our local tragedy as background for 100 minutes of Canadian civic boosterism."
Yeah, I thought that was uncalled for. The US closed its airspace - Canada could have either accepted the planes onto its territory or let them crash. Most of them didn't have enough fuel to go anywhere else.
I think it's very difficult from a political perspective to give this show a less than very flattering review, though some (Jesse Green, for one, whom I think is an excellent critic) have done so. It's sort of like giving a poor review to motherhood.

And yes, it happened locally but affected the entird US and world. Maybe he should have been elsewhere to see just how it affected other states. I just find that statement apalling.
I don't agree with that Green wrote, but I have friends who saw the show who shared his sentiment. I do think there are some out there who feel that way about the show.
"Oh look at the time, three more intelligent plays just closed and THE ADDAMS FAMILY made another million dollars" -Jackie Hoffman, Broadway.com Audience Awards
To act as if 9/11 only effected New York or was an NYC only situation would be naive. Yes, NYC was attacked horribly, but what happened effected everyone everywhere. We all felt it, even if it was indirectly. And 2 other flights were also involved that didn't end up in NYC, add in all the flights that were grounded in Canada and beyond. This is a world story.

I thought that the amNY review was a fairly critical review - it criticized the characterisations and the songs, which is totally fair. (And the aspects of Green's review that criticized those things were also fair).
However, I didn't think it was fair to criticise the show for having the temerity to depict an aspect of that week which was related to, but not directly focused on, the events in New York.

The 10 oclock is the traditional time to here from the Times, but I don't think it's mandated by the newspaper -- but it certainly is the time I've always looked to see what they say.
