That makes perfect sense. When I was in middle school drama we learned about that stuff. Now as a senior in high school I've forgotten a lot of it , because we have almost no theatre program.
I want one. If I didn't have marching band rehearsal...

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...
"Every day has the potential to be the greatest day of your life." - Lin-Manuel Miranda
"And when Idina Menzel is singing, I'm always slightly worried that her teeth are going to jump out of her mouth and chase me." - Schmerg_the_Impaler
All the signs are still there except for the ones hanging from the awning. The posters are still up, the wall paintings, only a tiny little closing notice on the front door.
Yeah, because I would actually take one. [/sarcasm]

I felt the same way after Sweet Charity. I walked into the Al Hirschfeld to get rush tickets to TWS & I was like "this isn't Sweet Charity". Got to the theatre for the show, saw the curtain & said "That's not the Sweet Charity curtain! Where's the box that Christina puts her feet in for the opening scene?"...then the curtain rose & Christina didn't walk out & make her blonde jokes. Instead, it was a loud opening with a lot of dancing.
And so it starts over again. Next time I'm in the theatre, I'm gonna wait for those opening chords & not hear them!
Though lets hope Curtains keeps up the tradition of connecting shows- Sweet Charity had the song "Hey Big Spender" & in All about the Green "Strippers screaming Hey Big Spender"
I actually have a funny story about taking stuff after shows close.
When they were renovating the Rodgers after Movin' Out closed, a friend and I were passing by and noticed (on a very rainy night) that they were taking down the large canvas coverings of the scaffolding, which read "Twyla Tharp and Billy Joel's MOVIN' OUT." I asked one of the workers if I could take it, they said yes. My friend and I rolled up the thing (it was easily 20 feet long), we walked it to the 7 train, and now, I have a rolled up Movin' Out canvas sign taking up space in my bedroom. I tried to sell it on ebay - nobody wanted it (not surprised). I had it as my avatar for a while...
I was checking today to see if there was anything around to keep, and they seriously loaded everything into trucks. I was offered the big balloon thing from the Someday reprise, but it was just huge and bulky and what the heck would I do with that??
Ditto what Liotte said, or anything from the final show.
Also *waves* hi guys! Sorry I haven't been around much, just a busy holiday season. It's hard to believe I come back here and have pictures to look at of the sets on the street...so weird. It doesn't seem quite right.
