The negativity and rampant b!tchiness drives me away from this board. I don't read it or post here nearly as often as I used to because there are so many Michael Riedel types who are just gleefully mean to other members and to shows.

If BEACHES indeed has one of the highest advances, it may be related to group sales and it being the most down-the-middle musical of the season. It doesn't deal with vampires or race, it's not a parody, it's not a gay fantasia, and it has more than two characters. You could take a middle school kid or a 90 year old and they might leave saying "oh that was nice." [I haven't seen the show and personally think it sounds boring and a flop in the making!]

Group sales are not indicative of future success by any means. But if they have $500K in committed-but-unpaid group sales, that is probably $498K more than what TITANIQUE has.

Why can't you just accept information and process it? Why the attacks? I don't get it. You want information but you reject it without any basis for your rejection.

I don't need or care about any of your information. And as always, you are missing the point that many people have pointed out: You are having conversations with yourself and then deleting them. And then you quote these long ass arguments with yourself for days. It's ridiculous to scroll through arguments you are having....with yourself.  And calling us snowflakes is quite the tell. Perhaps ask yourself: Why do I need to have conversations with myself for months at a time on a public message board? It's odd you have never answered this question, here or in your own head.

The mods love to delete a post that “isn’t on topic” or includes even a reference to an incendiary accusation (no matter how substantiated), but we still have to deal with BroadwayFlash creating a new profile every five minutes?

They were like... 90% the original orchestrations. I think for Broadway they're increasing the House Beats into the score, but I'm not sure by how much...

I think it’s the same as the last revival. Not much has changed, I think Lloyd Webber wouldn’t allow the orchestrations to be tinkered with other than adding a little thing here and there.  I didn’t care for this production, especially the choreo, but the chorus sounded great.

all the advance videos will give an idea of the sound of the show

https://youtu.be/NPgmAwfndes?si=uSM_dlrStwGCl9zK

pretty much the same, but with a layer of house beats over top to feel more Ballroom

i'm pretty excited to revisit this production again, and am hoping that there will be a new cast recording

The original was much more orchestral.  By the time the 2016 revival happened, it was already a lot more synth.  This new production is in line with that, but with a little more ballroom sounds. That’s how it was at PAC

I really want to buy a ticket, but these prices are ridiculous especially when you can see this show is clearly not selling, most dates I see see the same holds and way too much of the theatre is at $250+.

Then wait! Don't buy now. It isn't going to sell out overnight.

They know that once word of mouth kicks in again they can sell at high costs. It'll be the talked about revival come April/May.

Seating!

I got tickets to this early - before seating design was created.  I hope I made the right choice.  I a now what looks like to be in the first row of the Orchestra.  Will I miss everything by looking up the whole time?  Looks like on stage seating is well sold the date I am going.  What to do?  It pains me to spend money on theater tickets that are expensive with an obstructed view.

I think you might miss the footwork and the drops and pliés that happen on the runway. But probably no problem seeing the upper body stuff. The thing about downtown was that even the lowest level seat could still see the runway floor. That won’t be able to happen now.

Circle in the Square would have been the best for this.

Circle would have been so so so tiny for this.
