My mind immediately went to Emilie Kouatchou. She got more raw emotion out of Christine in Phantom than any actress I have ever seen play the role. She's also already going to be in NYCC's Titanic so she's 'in the system' so-to-speak.
So what’s the deal with presale access? I have to say the website is confusing. If you become a friend for $100 you access tickets to the whole new season today or just Ragtime?
I believe that only Ragtime tickets are on sale today. Subscription renewals are open until June 28th, and then new subscriptions open on Aug 6. Single tickets for Encores go on sale in early October (1st for members, 8th for non-members).

I would like to see that."
I was thinking Leslie Uggams would be fabulous, as well."
Rita Goddamn Moreno! (though I was worried Uggams was a little old and Moreno is even older). Or...and go with me on this...Nathan Lee Graham.
And in keeping with film actress making a splash in a musical (a la Toni Collette), I vote Evan Rachel Wood.
Do we think blackface is essential for Burrs in this? I think George C. Wolfe could get away with that in 2000, but not sure how that plays now. Will it need to be a black actor? Or can they just reconceive the type of 'clown' Burrs is?
I can't select any dates - all of them just say "Member Presale" even though I'm logged in and have a confirmed membership. Why is this always so complicated?

I had to launch a new Incognito window, login, and go through the Queue (real quick) again. The original browser must have cookies and was t resetting even when logging in/out

Just looked at Wednesday shows and neither of them have any “great” center orchestra seats left. The majority of the orchestra is $250 though
$260 for center orchestra, $235 for side orchestra, a few side orchestra for $185, front mezz (grand tier) for $235, second level of front mezz for $185, rear mezz for $100, etc.
Just looked at the balcony for someone and it looks like it’s barely sold for any date. Also; the last three rows of it don’t appear to even be on sale yet.

I would personally never vouch for the use of blackface in any production, but however they wind up staging it, I sincerely hope that we're able to finally see a version of this show that's as deep as LaChiusa and Wolfe intended. If I'm not mistaken, Burrs' role as a blackface performer was originally written to be the diametric opposite of Queenie, who was originally conceived as a Black performer passing as white using makeup. I've always been fascinated that they chose to pivot to Toni Colette after they lost Vanessa Williams in the original cast, as there is SO MUCH text in this show that hits completely different when interpreted as referring to Queenie's Blackness.
Burrs is a blackface performer. It's a part of the fabric of vaudeville--and therefore American--culture, whether we like it or not. To cut it would be beyond cowardly.
