Definitely not even close to a favorite over Darren Criss or Andrew Durand.

There’s maybe a 10 minute sectionwhere you can’t seethe band as much because of the bandstand position sitting over there but I didn’t feel like I missed anything. Would be curious to see it from the other side but I don’t imagine you miss much on either side"
Thanks so much for feedback.
I could see Jeremy as the overdue veteran with the meaty role that people would want to award, but you’re right, if voters are not responding to the performance/show, the others could be duking it out. On paper, Floyd is the most “Tony role” of the three you mentioned. I haven’t seen Floyd yet, but it would be silly for Lincoln Center to close the show when Tony voting is happening if they get nominations, and Jeremy is a lock for a nomination. This isn’t a Flying Over Sunset situation. (I say this as a fan of those two performances, by the way.)

DEAD OUTLAW has a nifty 5-piece onstage band, conducted by Rebekah Bruce in her first Broadway show as a music director. Orchestrations by Yazbek, Penna, and Dean Sharenow.
Cast member Jeb Brown is also listed as the “Band Leader,” and from the looks of the Off-Broadway production, he does appear to play some guitar along with the band.
Dying to know if the band’s set platform has any automation now?
tonight's first preview is up at TKTS for 50% off.

Would third row center orchestra be too close for this show?

Favorite? Nah...What about the others that will get noms - Darren Criss, Andrew Durand, Jonathan Groff, Tom Francis and maybe even David Hyde Pierce???
Okay, I didn’t realize there were so many haters! Again, I haven’t seen Floyd Collins yet and was just basing my assumption on the eligible roles. Floyd seems like a slam-dunk Tony role to me with Jeremy still looking for his first win. Carry on. Yikes…
Jeremy Jordan isn't getting a Tony nomination based on the early word-of-mouth.
Running time is approximately 1:40 with no intermission, per the musical’s official website.

No, it's perfect and exactly where I'm sitting tonight.

Totally agree it's the most tony role, people are defensive and sensitive about awards and who deserves them, which is always bizarre to me.

Can someone who goes please post the song list from the playbill since the off Broadway run didn’t have the songs listed in the program. Thanks 😊

What would you say as between Row C Orch center and Row A Mezz center? Don't want to be craning neck upward or be blocked by tall people, but also want to be close for what I understand is (or was) a pretty intimate staging. Hoping to make the right choice, I'm really looking forward to this one!

Row A mezz is def the way to go. A decent amount happens on top of the bandstand and it’s such an intimate theater that I think it would be the perfect view for this
How did this evening go?
I just want to know what the reaction was when Elmer hears that distant whistle early on and tells his cronies, “Alright boys… let’s go rob that ****in’ train.”
(Assuming, of course, they kept it in.)
did anyone go tonight?

They did keep it. A mix of uproarious laughter, especially from the show’s fans, and curiosity from others.
I'm just saying this as far as first preview audiences usually are nowadays, but the reaction felt a bit muted. That line you asked about got a great response, though. People seemed to have enjoyed it while we were leaving so maybe the response I noticed was just people not wanting to be annoying and scream like people feel they have to do, now.
As for me I loved this just as much as I did downtown.
I don't remember the line "Beyonce's Dead" in the song downtown but when he sang it tonight someone near me yelled "SHE IS?!"
or perhaps these fans weren't screaming adolescents that needed to scream for every unnecessary moment the show has. It must've been nice to go to a first preview where the fans weren't completely obnoxious.
I saw Dead Outlaw twice last spring and thought it was terrific. I was at the first preview tonight, and right now I feel I liked it more then. I'm not sure if I preferred the smaller venue or if I overhyped the show in my head over the last year of waiting to see it again (especially after seeing Operation Mincemeat and wondering which of those two shows I liked more). Nevertheless, it's still one of the best musicals since the pandemic by a wide margin.
This show's first preview gift was a bandana, which is also available as regular merch.
They have added new pieces of scenery (including a backdrop that fell halfway off its fixture tonight). The only added dialogue I could notice was a joke about doing a show without an intermission. The cement pouring into the grave was not done tonight, and I don't know if that's a permanent change or if something went wrong.
Show remains in great shape which isn't surprising. I was once again struck by how talented the cast and band are. Absolutely one of my favorite new musicals in years. It's just a joy from start to finish.
Everyone around me on line to get in, as well as those near me in the audience, had never seen the show before. Perhaps that contributed to the somewhat muted audience reaction that others mentioned. The woman next to me asked if it was scary or a serious drama. But all that said, people clearly enjoyed themselves and loved the show, and candidly I was relieved it wasn't a wildly over the top first preview audience
There was some sort of issue
with the cement machine, so Elmer's burial felt a bit lackluster without it
I love this show and wish it all the success. Word of mouth is going to be so crucial for it to succeed, and they really need to lower ticket prices.
