@Liza, to answer your question about blocking/unblocking, it seems to be instant in the testing I've done. No 48 hour delay. I can toggle people on/off willy-nilly.

Kad, I'd ask how you found my name... I suspect that you read the exchange and that was the impetus for you doing the research. What was TheatreDiva's? Why use my name? Perhaps, s/he remembered that post, and always knew my name. If so, I am being overly sensitive. Or, perhaps it was meant in a slightly less innocent manner.
(TheatreDiva, do you care to share with us your reasons?)
Either way, it really doesn't matter. It wasn't TheatreDiva's place to use my name out of context like that. But, we can let this go, as it really doesn't matter.

Whether it was a glitch, as you claim, or not, you continually posted under that username and even included your personal website -- which, yes, contains your name -- in your profile.
This is not riedel science.

"Anyway... I hung around for a few years as a fairly active member. Posting when I felt I had something to say. I created some pretty cool threads that had "legs". I started the set design thread, to name one that was quite popular.
I don't remember the exact circumstances, but I got into an argument here. I think it was over liking Memphis and my experiences with Spider-man: Turn Off the Dark. The reaction to my posts were so hurtful to me that I decided it wasn't worth being here and left. I actually emailed the "board" and asked them to remove my membership. "
You keep asking why it matters who has been here longer and who has just recently joined (me being one of them). So, I ask you why it matters what threads had "legs." That seems very self serving to me; similar to something broadway guy / N2N Nate would pull.
Anyway, it seems you're trying to take on the role of Hall Monitor to fulfill some ongoing anger or hurt you hold from a past experience here. But I imagine it's only going to make it worse for you. Namo passed along some seriously helpful advice in this thread, and he passed it on to me at one point too. Just post. Don't troll, don't shill. Just share your thoughts and post and you shouldn't have to worry about accusations (like what you're currently facing). I took that advice and I suggest you take it as well...
So what if someone disagrees with you? That's usually the point of a Message Board. Yes, people can be harsh. If you do not like it, then do not post. Or, thanks to the return of the IGNORE, simply press the button and you'll never have to hurt or feel offended ever again. Deal?
Also, unless you're a moderator, I'd suggest that you are in absolutely no position to determine who can do what and say what on BroadwayWorld.com. It's lunacy. That's all I will say. I am sure the longtime legends can speak up for themselves in response to your strange stories, Mr. Briefer.

Actually, thank you for that post. For two reason: 1. I didn't realize that my original user name created in 2004 was under Scott Briefer. Clearly it was and I was mistaken. 2. For the choice of words, "as you claim". Why would I lie? Honestly. Does so much here have to be accusatory, or imply cynicism? I suspect, I should look within, too.
Yes, I think you'd better had.

Liza's Headband, thank you for your post. I believe it is well-meaning and as such will seriously consider your words and suggestions.
As for my set design thread... simply, I'm proud of it and I thought it would give weight to my "history". Nothing more.
LoL...I'm only seeing mysterousgrowl's and Liza's Headband's responses and it makes for a very "weird" read.
Where is the ignore button? I don't see it.
It's still being beta-tested, I believe. At least, I hope it is, because otherwise I've been Ignored for the Ignore button.
Thanks to our testers, there's one bug that we're still working out, but I'd anticipate it being available early next week.
Thanks, Rob!
^ My thoughts exactly, broadway guy! I mean, Chi Chi! I mean, itsafinelife! I mean, N2N Nate!

Yeah. broadway guy had a habit of having to get his point across multiple times because no one would listen to him otherwise. Can't wait for you to vanish into thin air, N2N Nate / broadway guy.

Carlos, I imagine that will be the only strange part of the IGNORE world. But I suppose if we really want to know what is being said, we can just press 'Reply' or temporarily Unblock the troll/poster in question? Better having that problem than not having the IGNORE option at all!!
FYI, we've squashed the last bug that we're aware of, so will roll this (back) out tomorrow.
Thanks, Rob!! That's great news.
"TheatreDiva90016, Yes, my name is Scott. But, what I find curious is that you would choose to reveal it - not a personal biggie. From the argument you're having with Ghostlight2 over in the other thread, it seems that maintaining one's anonymity is important to you. Hypocrite much? "
Art1234,
Your name was posted in other threads. Other posters have posted links to your name. I have not revealed anything that wasn't already on the boards.
Try not to make too much out of it.
And calling me a hypocrite is unnessecsary..
Thanks, Rob!
Awesome news! Thank-you so much Rob! Funny how one person can cause enough trouble to have a whole new feature installed just to keep it at bay.
Will it be rolled out by a particular time? Those of us who don't have it yet are chomping at the bit so to speak.
Question - will you be able to block someone from a thread or do you have to go to their profile to do so?
Thanks for listening Rob, I however will use it sparingly as i am not afraid to hear opinions other then my own. Its how one learns!

As soon as that option goes live, please let us know. Because there's someone I'd like to use it on.

Didn't I read that it was going live today: 26 August 2013? Has it happened and is just not showing up on my screen? (There have been other reported inconsistencies with the interface of this site.) Where will the button / link be?
