So, I'm totally a 12-year-old girl, but... this makes me so excited I can't even handle it. I'm extremely upset I won't get to see this. I'm a fan of "Degrassi" and SA so this is a match made in Heaven for me.
I think I'll be seeing this. Part of me is really excited, and part of me thinks it will be terrible. Who knows really? Jake may be a wonderful Melchior.
I miss when the rumors were that Gerard Canonico would be on tour as Moritz this summer... That was more exciting for me, frankly.

Those rumors were dashed long ago...once Bashoff stayed with the tour. (Then other info came out that it was not ever really under consideration.)
Bashoff is leaving (as are a number of the current cast) when this leg of the tour is over in Chicago...mid-august.
I might have to make a trip to D.C. to catch him in the role.
Very exciting. I think he'll be a great Melchior. And people sitting stage left will be quite lucky!

I am a 47 year old man and I'm totally a 12 year old girl about this. I CANNOT WAIT!
I might actually be tempted to go see this now if there are rush tickets left.
Does he even compare to Riabko vocally?
How would anybody know that, provocation? He hasn't even performed in the show yet. Honestly...
OMG CRAIG!!

Haha, that's awesome! Good for him.
I was hoping he would have sang on Degrassi or something. Maybe it's the same case as Hunter--an unexpectedly decent singer.
Hunter could not perform "Totally F*cked" for the life of him, however.
He never sang Spring Awakening songs on Degrassi but he did sing several times thru out the seasons.

He has sung on DeGrassi and also tours with his band. It's not exactly Verdi.
Hunter was TERRIBLE in Totally F*CKed

Oh stop it. Everyone can take a bad picture now and then. This is more representative.

I bumped into him at a Starbucks in New York. He signed my receipt! =)
Oh my god. This is way more exciting than it should be. I'll be taking a bus out to D.C. for this one.
Aw! I don't watch the show, but my roommate does. Thus I have dubbed him "That Ramin Karimloo kid."
The Spring Awakening Myspace posted a blog with the cast (including Jake) singing "The Dark I Know Well."
Most of the ensemble members contracts expired recently. I wonder if they'll be any other replacements soon.
Jakey is a buddy of mine so I've known about this for a week now (he found out a week ago today I think). I am so stoked for him...couldn't have happened to nicer guy or a more talented actor and musician! He's wanted this role for a while now and I.'ll know he'll be a great leader to the company

Yeah, he sang all the time on Degrassi, but not exactly musical theatre. I think he'll do great.
The preteen in me just squealed! I have been obsessed with Degrassi since it first came out, and I'm so happy for Jake!
