Me too. The ending is so sugary and happy that I have to listen to something depressing afterwards. I've never had to do that with a recording before, not even "Brave Enough for Love" from Jane Eyre.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
LOVING this CD. I have to say there is one part that annoys the HELL outta me...in What You Want I can't STAND how her father says "Button" and the amount of times it's used in 30 seconds. But otherwise the 73 minutes and 30 seconds outside of that is GREAT!!
"How could a man be more like a dog? Both of them lick you and then abandon you. Feign intellectual dialogue... Same sticky mess when they leap and land on you."
I like the CD. Hearing the music live was better than listening to the CD though.
Broadway Shows I've Seen: Hairspray, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors (2003), The Wedding Singer, Spamalot, Riverdance, Rent, Beauty and the Beast, Spring Awakening, Wicked, Legally Blonde, Phantom of the Opera, Sweet Charity (revival), Drowsy Chaperone, The Lion King, Dreamgirls(2010 Tour).
I'm a fan of the show and I love most of the lyrics, but the score of Legally Blonde is... a bit harder for me to enjoy. It seems so erratic at times, like you can never really get into a song before the score changes. Having said that, I'm really enjoying the recording. I've even started working out to it.
LEGALLY BLONDE is one of three musicals that I have ever seen(out of over 200 musicals) that I didn't buy the record/tape/CD for. I really disliked this show and have no desire to keep reminding myself of that fact. Sorry, fans.
The other two shows were STOP THE WORLD I WANT TO GET OFF and NICK & NORA. Awful.
I think the cd is more enjoyable/addictive after you see the actual show. I'm addicted to this cd! I've had "Omigod, You Guys" stuck in my head for days.
Ok i was just listening to this cd yet again. I get super bothered during "What You Want" when Kate tells Elle to study. She sounds really snid and bitchy like "HAHA you can't party and are stuck with the nerdy Delta Nu". Had to get that off my chest.
Think how much better the recording would be if Orfeh didn't smoke.
Wasn't particularly funny in the other thread, JohnPopa and certainly not funny in an entirely separate one. Orfeh doesn't smoke and spreading misinformation like that isn't cool, even if you mean it as a joke. You're one of those people that doesn't know when it's time to stop, aren't you.
I think the CD is great. I was skeptical when I heard the rough cut, but it came out really fab. :) Updated On: 7/6/07 at 10:35 PM
Like most here I am sure, I have the workshop songs, the sampler songs, the 'Tony voter mix' songs, and I finally today bought the Legally Blonde cast recording, am uploading it to my iPod right now. Haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but quick first thoughts: -I completely 100% prefer Bend & Snap with Kritzer's "You've got the pom poms..." line to start it off. - And I miss the longer dance break ("Time for my cross...I object") in What You Want- it just feels so random that that part is missing. - The fact that the lyrics insert booklet says Whales: (whale noises) in Ireland is cracking me up. - Much much love for the addition of Kyle the Magnificent after the Finale
