I'm sure you're right. But that promotional packet contains information and performances from the 2011 Sydney production, not the upcoming Broadway one.
You can simply go to their website and see a video of Tam and Kelli in the recording studio performing a demo of "Now." This is not the Australian production, but yes there is already a recording of the Australian show. So everyone is right.

Is anyone gonna be going to the first preview tomorrow night?

Assuming it doesn't post a closing notice while I'm on vacation, I'm going to wait until their 92Y event before deciding whether or not to see the show.

This is based on third-hand information.
There was a label deal to record ZHIVAGO, but it may have had one of those clauses canceling the deal if the show didn't last x number of performances. At any rate, with the dreadful reviews and short run, the cast album must be dead by now.
I would love to be proved wrong, but it looks like DR. Z joins the ranks of unrecorded shows, like SHOGUN and MERLIN and SOMETHING MORE! and CRY-BABY and COPPER AND BRASS and ................
Sadly, I must agree
The critics, both armchair & media, have protected the masses from hearing the score.
Such is life. I used to get really p.o.ed over it but I no longer waste any effort on things I have no control over.

It would really upset me if this one doesn't get recorded especially since the promotional videos floating around don't do it justice. Slightly off topic but didn't they record Cry Baby? I think it was part of James Snyder's vlogs for broadway.com.
No album has been commercially released featuring the score of Cry-Baby.
Snyder sang on the reference recording, which I guess is what his vlogs are from.
Cry-Baby was recorded for MTI. It's in the vlog. I assume the recording will be limited to perusal only as a reference recording.
I was led to believe that Doctor Zhivago was going to be recorded at one point on the Broadway Records label but it does seem as if the plans have been scrapped.

One of the producers said on twitter the other day the team was working on trying to get the album made. I hope someone coughs up the money. I need this on cd.
It sounds likely from my sources that a recording is happening.
I REALLY hope this ends up happening.
I'm all for it. I hope it does get recorded. There's more at stake than just preserving the score for the fans. If the creators and producers want the show to have any chance of a life beyond Broadway in regional theatres they'll need a reference recording of the score. This is partly why Disney is recording Hunchback. When was the last time a regional theatre production got a cast album? Granted, it's Papermill which has happened before with Follies, but it doesn't happen often.
I believe Paper Mill got the cast recordings of "Children of Eden" and "Happy Days." I have both. One a listen to quite frequently and the other not so much.
Regardless, I do hope this gets recorded. I actually enjoyed some of the score and wouldn't mind hearing some of it again.

How long should we wait on the album before we start losing hope?
I absolutely love the song "On the Edge of Time".
Safe to stop waiting.

As far as I know, they ran out of money, so there will be no album.
It would have been nice but you cannot always get what you want .

I'm not losing hope until an official statement is made. Everyone on this board has their "sources" that are contradictory. The bottom line is that the show didnt deserve the bashing it got and in my opinion some of the score is beautiful. It deserves to be preserved.
I agree but I also feel like their silence is enough of an announcement for me.
