Ok... this is a really random question, and I hope I don't get shunned for asking this... but a friend of mine said when "Footloose" closed on Broadway, they next morning they had a huge dumpster outside of the theatre, and as they loaded out, a lot of really good stuff got thrown away, and she was able to get a couple of costumes, a few smaller props, as well as some promotional items (poster, etc) all the that crew was gonna toss. Is this common after a show closes?? Is it easy to get your hands on stuff?
People do it..just depends what show and how smart they are about it...

Oh boy, I can't wait to go down Shubert Alley and watch all the sad theatre queens turning to dumpster-diving.
LOL!

I mean, come on. What normal person would dig through GARBAGE to retrieve one of the popcorn buckets from 13 or a regular-size hairspray can from Hairspray?
I would do it!
I wonder if there were a ton of RENTheads who did this in September.
If I came across Louise's cow head, I would run like a madman.

They should try and salvage as much as they can and put on a show with whatever they can get their hands on.
There, I said it.
One of my friends has been known to go dumpster diving every once in awhile. If you see him tell him I said hi!
I thought this one was funny.
My friends and I happened to walk past Studio 54 when they were loading out the Threepenny revival. We asked the crew if we could have something and they obliged and offered to assist us. They let me take this giant, upholstered, heart-shaped headboard, which hangs over my bed to this day. It's a good conversation piece.
I say go for it.

What can I say?

Do you know how much that stuff sells for on eBay?
I'd dive in a second.

I know alot of people who did. I wanted to go but I Missed the 7am bus to NY and another woulden't be arriving until 11am so I said screw it.
Did you scream as the bus was driving away?
You didn't go running after it?
You are no fan.
And were you wearing your Adam shirt?
Nope I diden't go screaming after the bus I just went home to take a nap before work.
My friend did go and she completely freaked out and brought everything she could back which consisted of
-2 posters that were crinkled
-Someones High heel (Most likely one that someone tossed out)
-A drum Stick
I don't even know why she wasted her time with the damn heel lol

This sounds absolutely disgusting but I would do it in a heartbeat.
I would kill to get a couple of the outfits worn by the Lady of the Lake in Spamalot. My luck, that wouldn't be stuff thrown into the dumpster.
