Considering the ways other Broadway shows have faced infection moving through fully vaccinated casts quickly (review Company threads this past winter; multiples out for several weeks). Another moment to pause and cheer the ways this vaccinated industry has risen to this challenging occasion. Now, it’s Funny Girl’s turn. They will rally."
Hopefully their outbreak won't be that bad - Karimloo is probably due back right after Tony nominations.
Sad to hear the news. Though history could be made this weekend if any legit reviewer should pop in to catch Benko, and end up getting two leads for the price of one. Here's to the standbys, swings and understudies!!!
However, if anyone has a ticket for the next ten days, and has their heart on seeing Ramin, they're required to allow refunds for an above-the-title star's absence. You might have to explain that to the folks at SeatGeek, who are generally a little clueless, but they'd have to accommodate you.

I know right? More like taking a couple of days off hanging on this balcony enjoying the nice NY weather...like a mini vacay but yet he tested positive. Anyway...
Hey Folks. My view for the next ten days or thereabouts. So… I’ve tested positive for the Rona. I’m feeling fine other than completely bummed to not be able to perform. Per the Broadway protocol, I have to be out of the show for 10 days. See you at Arnstein’s soon. Until then, it’s not a bad view 🖤 #rona#cansomeonebringmemyguitar#andmybottleofwhiskey#cheers

Sunday in the Park with George
It’s the standard Spring transition weather in NYC. Tomorrow and the rest of the weekend it’s about 70 degrees. This transition is typical where one day it snows and the next day it’s 75 degrees.

And everyone will be getting sick and playing our new favorite game, “Cold or Covid”.
So..,. I finally saw it... the devil of Broadway, the defiler of the Great White Way, the thing that keeps you all up at night and... I loved it!
I can 100% understand if you didn't. I'm not going to make excuses for the problems with Beanie's singing. They are definitely real and I understand if they ruined it for you. They just didn't for me. I found that the issues were pretty overblown, even though they were present. Worth noting that someone else paid for my ticket tonight, so I also understand being disappointed if you paid some of the prices they are asking for this show.
Beanie was hilarious and so cute, but also vulnerable and emotional through the second act. Parade was definitely the strongest of her big songs, but she found moments to shine in all of them. I think she needs to find someone to Funny Girl/Send in the Clowns her and write material for her that will land in her range.
I believe it was Jeremiah James' first time on for Nick and he was wonderful. I may have to go back to see Ramin (maybe I'll time it for Julie Benko's weekend in August), Jeremiah did a wonderful job. Temporary Arrangement was a lot fun and I'm glad it was added back in to give both Nick and the male ensemble members some more stuff to do!
Jane and Jared were everything you expect from them. Both were wonderful to see Jared's tapping (and the tapping in general) was some of the best I've ever seen in a show and definitely got some of the biggest applause of the night.
The whole supporting cast and ensemble were also giving their all and doing it so well!
I thought the physical production was wonderful too. The set was really cool and definitely very unique! I again, understand the complaints about it feeling claustrophobic, but it just didn't bother me. The costumes were wonderful, the lighting was solid, the show sounded great. I had a good time.
My favorite scenes were definitely Rat Tat Tat Tat (duh), His Love Makes Me Beautiful, Jared's tap numbers, Parade, and the finale.
I do have one major book-related complaint, which is how much everyone blames Fanny for Nick being an asshole. Like everyone seems to agree that she somehow shares the blame for his criminal activities. It drove me crazy.
I also remain so glad that they cast a Jewish woman as Fannie. I think it's important overall, but Rat Tat Tat Tat would be downright Antisemitic if it was being performed by a goy.
Interesting how the social media manager handling the FUNNY GIRL Instagram can whip up these gems of art work with critic’s pull quotes in minutes yet they have not posted anything regarding Ramin’s COVID status. Other show’s (like ALADDIN, THE MUSIC MAN, PLAZA SUITE, etc) posted their hours prior to the first performance the affected actor would be missing. Curious if they will be posting anything regarding Julie’s performances this weekend?
I have looked everywhere I can think of but I can’t find this information, so I’m asking here. I’m well aware of the lottery the show has. But does it also have rush?

That would be me. Does anyone have any idea how to exchange tickets at Seat Geek or find a phone number? I've been checking on the App and website.

100%! We had no idea he was out until we got there and no idea he had COVID until I got home and came here to type up my review!

Try emailing them at jujamcyn@seatgeek.com. I've contacted them that way a few times, and they're always quick to respond. I don't believe they do exchanges, so just request a refund, and you can rebuy for the date you want.

Curious when you got there, how did you first find out he was out? An insert in the Playbill? An announcement?
Aside from Ramin’s Instagram account, I could swear he posted the same message on his Twitter, but it’s gone now. Did anyone else see it? I mean I think Ramin’s the only major player who had no negatives in the reviews.

I saw it on the understudy board right by the entrance. There was also a Playbill insert.
