Robin Williams sat in front of me at "The Rink" years ago.
Pia Lindstom stepped on my foot at the final performace of "A Chorus Line". (She was covering it for WNBC). She apologized several times.
Bruce Villanch wearing a t-shirt at "Tallulah" (Kathleen Turner) in SF.

Posted: 6/18/06 at 10:17pmI saw Mike Tyson's ex-wife, Robin Givens, at Lion King a year ago in May! She sat two seats to the left with her children. 10 minutes before the show ended she left with the woman she was with and her children!

Steve Bushemi (sp?) and Dan Akroyd sat two rows behind me at Spamalot last March. Also saw Jack O'Brien, Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs at a performance of DRS.

Today at History Boys, Natalie Portman, Bernadette Peters, and Joel Grey were all in the audience. People actually stood and pointed at them. Oy.
And Lauren Bacall and Liz Smith were in the audience when I saw Boy From Oz. Ms. Bacall was extremely gracious :)

"To answer algy's question (which is not actually stupid at all), producers set aside a certain number of house seats and celebrities have their people call and they get to purchase these house seats.Sometimes they get comped in (it's up to the producers) but generally they purchase their seats."
Thanks Overthemoo28 - so it's pretty much the same as the West End with regard to the house seats etc. I guess the "cooler" you are, the more likely you are to get in free with regard to celebs - get the show mentioned in the spotted columns of the papers/magazines.
