"You will understand that Bww is a forum that allows Theatre people, Fussy old Queens, and chorus boys of Mama Mia to release their everyday life's frustration by being Snarky, B**chy, and sarcastic."

"Oh look at the time, three more intelligent plays just closed and THE ADDAMS FAMILY made another million dollars" -Jackie Hoffman, Broadway.com Audience Awards
Those are some harsh words, Wanna Be A Foster, especially considering that Bernie Gersten is, and has always been, one of the most beloved men in the Broadway community, not to mention a pioneer and veritable legend in Broadway HISTORY. Guess you should get used to it-- he and Andre win pretty much every year.
Rylance definitely. Then Lin, because itw as awesome and I'm biased... and Patti's was great to.

Outside of that, Patti was great as always and Lin. One very talented young newcomer and the other a celebrated, glorious lady of the stage. Ahhh, Broadway at it's best. Awesome.
TOTALLY Mark Rylance, followed closely by Lin-Manuel. I'm sure I'd love Patti's too, but I haven't experienced it in any form (either video or transcript) yet.
It seemed like it was a really good year for speeches, funnily enough. The last couple of years at least, there's always been at least one that bordered on the vaguely creepy or cringeworthy, but from what I've seen, there were pretty much no speeches that weren't genuine, or entertaining, or at the very least not creepy.
Laura Benanti's speech was just darling! I thought Patti's was kind of snobby...It's like, We get it lady! We know you haven't gotten a Tony in 20-some years! You don't have to tell us a dozen times! Other than that her speech was very nice.
Easy. Mark Rylance, Lin-Manuel Miranda, & Laura Benanti.
My favorite winners of the night, my favorite acceptance speeches of the night, and my favorite performers of the night.
Can we say BIAS?

"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim
I too found Tracy Letts' speech to come off as pretty obnoxious and not very heart-felt at all. Oh, and I have no problems with Andre Bishop, I just couldn't believe how boring the speech was.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
