Except, perhaps, as bad memories. For as we know, those are not so easy to forget. I speak from experience!
"
But not always in a negative away. Because there is always joy in remembering some of the turkeys. They are part of broadway folklore. But they are still bad shows.

It tells us that us that cynics on the internet are a dime a dozen, and it takes absolutely zero originality or creativity to blindly bash something. But please, continue with your nuanced criticism of Groundhog Day where you say "the show's book and score were extremely bad."

Blindly? You just joined on here a few days ago. And why is After Eight not entitled to his opinion?
No one has suggested otherwise. However, he's NOT entitled to attack the character and intelligence of the people who don't share his opinion (a group that includes virtually everyone) as he so frequently does. He's one of the most relentlessly nasty and uninsightful veteran posters I've ever encountered on a message board.

He's entitled to his opinion, and I'm entitled to call him out if his opinion seems unfounded. I'm not sure someone saying "the show is bad" counts as "heat".

What's "unfounded" about it? I saw it, and thought it was ghastly. The repetitive scenes were mind-numbing. The score was a chore and a bore. What more does one need say? Does one have to write a doctoral dissertation to proclaim a show bad, or ask and receive someone else's permission to claim it so? You liked it? Well, good for you. No skin off my back.

It certainly seemed to get a rise out of you, for reasons that, frankly, quite escape me.

If you found the show repetitive, maybe you should have checked about the subject matter before seeing it.
Nope, no one here is saying you need to ask permission to proclaim it bad. Just like I don't have to ask permission to point out that your criticisms seem, again, very simplistic ("The score was a chore and a bore": It's funny because it rhymes!), and overly hyperbolic.

Check the DEH cancelation line/lottery thread for info, but DEH releases tickets about four days in advance to shows, typically the seats that were held for accessible patrons and their companions, so there is hope. I just bought DEH tickets yesterday for Saturday's show. Worth a shot.

Thanks! I will definitely try this. Sad that GHD is closing, but I might as well make the best of the trip and enjoy as many shows as I can.

That's funny, because you saying, "If you can't stand the heat.. then get out of the kitchen. What bunch of woosies." is the most Trumpish thing I've seen on this thread.

So bummed to see this show already ending its run so soon. Wished it could have played through the holiday season. I'm just glad I got to see it on Broadway.
I was more saying ghost (massive flop) Matilda (massive hit) GHD (massive flop)
i don't think a producer will entrust him with a huge musical again after losing around 30 million dollars with ghost and ghd.
If that were the case, very few directors would ever work on Broadway. Do you honestly think Ghost flopped because of the direction? That another director would have turned it into a hit? Have you seen how many flops Stroman has had? Michael Mayer didn't have a musical turn a profit until his fourth production, Spring Awakening, nine years after his first, Triumph of Love. I think Warchus will be fine.
