I really liked this esipode. I just can't wait a whole season until Glee is back. And the lap slapping dance they did in My Life Would Suck Without You was weird and funny. Haha!
Mercedes kicked ass with 'And I Am Telling You' And I loved when Kurt, Santana, and whatserface do the Single Ladies in 'My Life Would Suck Without You'
The lap-slapping dance was a throwback to Tina's audition for the glee club. The entirety of the "My Life Without You" dance was put together using parts of the choreography from almost all of the previous Glee songs. Updated On: 12/9/09 at 10:08 PM
Knockout musical performances - went back and watched them a 2nd time!

I was also weirded out that after Mercedes took her moment, they returned to "Rachel's the best." But then she just ripped it to shreds on "Parade." AND the show finally seems to have vocals that don't sound weirdly manipulated! Or they did on that song, at least. That was the most I've ever appreciated Lea Michele's voice. Stunning.
Fantastic episode. The performances were the best of the season. I loved that they tied up most of the loose ends. I loved the way they tied all of the performances together in "My Life Would Suck Without You." Great!
It was incredible. I know Spring Awakening fans get a bad wrap, but I'm sure there were plenty of other old school Guilty Ones like myself that were saying, "That's *OUR* girl" during that song. I have been so proud to see her blossom into such a star. I knew she would when I saw her as Wendla, but it's been amazing to watch her ascend the way she has.
And then to follow her going all gangbusters on "Parade" with one of my favorite Rolling Stones songs? Fan-freaking-tastic.
I was there with you! I was like GO LEA GO LEA GO LEA GO LEA! I listened to the track yesterday and it's even better when you see her perform with the song!
If I were a woman, I'd marry Stephen Joshua Sondheim. But then again, he's gay, so....
"They say the unexamined life is not worth living. But what if the examining becomes your life? Is that living or just procastinating?" - Carrie Bradshaw
"All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts...." - William Shakespeare
I don't get how everyone is so impressed.... she's an actor. that's what they're expected to do.
Besides, she was lipsyncing to a digitally manipulated track doing what she does best - imitating other people while freakishly spazzing out. And being terribly obnoxious about it.
Glee, love it or hate it, IS a musical. The characters sing both diegetically and non-diegetically. However, it IS admittedly a pop musical, and we're getting pop music interpretations of the showtunes AND pop-rock classics. You wanna sing pop? You're gonna have your voice meddled and futzied about with. It's just the style. If my band had the equipment, we'd do it too- it's selling the song because it doesn't need to sell the singer.
And speaking of the songs and my band, I'm getting a bit annoyed with GLEE stealing every great "all request wedding band" song there is. My band has had to drop "Don't Stop Believing," "Jump" and now "You Can't Always Get What You Want" because our fanbase now associates them with Glee. Shame, Glee- you stole Dr. House's jam today.

LOL every post i read of yours to do with anything is always negative, its like you have created this persona for yourself as this grumpy old man, how very sad, your life must be very empty.
Sorry to dissapoint you but I am not Empty, Grumpy, Old, or even Sad. I'm sure you wish it.
I'm extremely critical and hold this art form to a higher standard - so I can imagine why you would make that assumption. Regardless... try responding with actual substance, rather than a personal attack.
You went to the trouble of responding and (more importantly) quoting me, so feel free to respond to my thoughts about Lea Michele and GLEE. Don't waste your time attacking me - I promise you, I'm really not worth it.
