So no word who the alternate is? Or who is the 2nd cover? PlaybillVault hasn't updated the cast list yet.
I think there are three alternates in true Billy Elliot style.
dramamama, I haven't seen Smith as Burr, so I can't speak to that, but I did see him in "An Octoroon" last year and he gave an absolutely fantastic performance and one that still resonates in my mind. I don't know what his singing voice is like, but I'm jealous of your tickets to see him as Burr and would love to hear your thoughts.
I saw Austin go on as George Washington in March and he has a beautiful singing voice, so I wouldn't be too concerned with that.
I never made the connection that Austin was the same guy from An Octaroon! He WAS great in that!

If I had said "Miguel Cervantes is making his Hamilton debut on Wednesday", tell me what the response would have been, considering he wasn't on the cast website yet and Michael was already announced officially as the Hamilton alternate.

Stop with the superior attitude. This board overreacts no matter what, so it wouldn't have made a difference.

Truer words were never spoken. And it also pays VERY little attention to prior posts in threads or (heaven forbid) actual authoritative information. But let's summarize just for fun.
1. There is 1 Hamilton and 2 Hamilton alternates (one of whom is apparently not ready).
2. The are 0 Burrs until August and 3 Burr alternates (two of whom will alternate by the week and one of whom is, in effect, understudying the other two as well as most of the other male principal roles).
Neon, look at your past posts and see what "superior attitude" looks like. You've talked down to many of us here, many times. And Liza, you can be just as bad.

Oh, child. PLEASE! Spare me the dramatics on this beautiful July Tuesday.

doesn't show Michael to be apart of the cast at all... maybe he is joining when Miguel leaves to go to Chicago?

That's possible, but it doesn't explain the press release that went out last week, which said Michael was the alternate, not Miguel.
I don't necessarily expect them to put out a corrective press release, per se, but this continues to be intriguing.

I don't expect them to, but I wish they would.

It was my understanding before the press release that Luwoye wouldn't be starting until August. Surprised that they would have goofed on the press release that badly.
wait when was it announced Miguel Cervantes would be in Hamilton in Chicago?
I don't think it ever was.
why do people keep mentioning it then??

Considering who the press firm is, you shouldn't be.
