You're hilarious!!! I recall one of the line sitters of SOLD is a really nice elderly woman with white/grey-ish hair. Very sweet and humble. If she can handle line sitting for over 24 hours, I think most people can do it too, especially diehard fans. From this Twitter pic, it looks like she uses a cane as well.

Hehehe! Actually 10 AM is pretty early, I think it's a better idea to go at like noon… or two, two is nice and safe.

Ok break is over. Going back to the beach! Happy Friday everyone!
Oh man! she's the OG of sitters! She will HURT YOU with that cane! LOL! My mom absolutely never wanted one and when she got it...WHOA! She will clear the way with it!
The elements will be challenging in winter for sitters when tents to shield them from the elements are not allowed. I don't know how sitters and fans did it during the deep freeze of Valentine's Day weekend or during eve of the blizzard in January.

This is what makes me mad. You know you won't use them if you win so why take someone elses chance away of winning $10 lotto seats?
If you're(I mean everyone that does this) out if town or don't plan on being in the city don't do the lottery.
That old woman with the cane was very rude when my uncle and I went. She pretended like she was lining up for Tuesday night's show (it was like 6:15 on a Monday) and when tickets were starting to be given out, she tried to cut in front of him to then get tickets for that night screaming "I'm Robert's people". No joke. But anyways it didn't work out for her and we got in instead.

"True. Please don't do that. I live out here in new york and really want those tickets!!

"Well, even more dangerous than any place in NYC, is THIS online board/thread! LoL! :P
Have you noticed how unfriendly, rude and confrontational some posters here are? Sometimes I feel like dodging from stray bullets coming out of my screen. =D
Can you imagine if we were all in the cancellation line and these exchanges were all face to face? That's when you sleep with one eye open! =)
I know I promised to keep y'all updated on the Wednesday matinee situation, and I know I'm late, so I apologize in advance. I also went to two shows yesterday, so it's been a little crazy and I haven't had the time, but here goes:
My friend and I could only make it to the Wednesday matinee (due to other life things), so if we didn't get into the matinee, we would've left the line. Having heard that Wednesday waits can be iffy, I was nervous. I ended up getting there around 8:35pm, Tuesday night, and two lovely people were already there. They had gotten there at 2:30pm or so and didn't get into the evening show that night, so they planned on waiting for the matinee. They were each getting one ticket, which meant I would be getting tickets #3 and 4 for the Wednesday matinee. A couple hours later, two more people, each wanting one ticket, showed up. They were also in line earlier in the day but had left the line to get dinner and supplies for the overnight wait. MyFavoriteBrunette stopped by the line after shows let out to say hey and wish us luck, which was super cool. By midnight or so, we had 7 in line and it was just us 7 for a good while.
Honestly, it's not easy sleeping on the street. Garbage trucks are loud and come through a couple times during the night. We were also on the left side of the theatre, under the scaffolding between the theatre and the Marriott, and people had to access the gated area behind us, so we were woken up a couple times. However, they were super kind to us and even apologized for waking us up, even though they were just trying to do their jobs. Open bathrooms are incredibly hard to find overnight. The Marriott lobby on the 8th floor is closed to the public overnight, and despite being open 24hrs, McDonald's bathroom doesn't follow the whole open 24hr thing.
By around 5am, more people show up and the line's getting longer. I lose track of how many people actually join us. We're all pretty much awake. We're all chatting and having fun. Around 6, someone comes out to hose down the sidewalk right in front of the theatre. He also takes pictures of who's in line/in what order, then moves us to the other side of the theater, by the steps. We wait there for a couple hours and around 10:30 or 11, RRT people start trying to figure out how to set up for the live Ham4Ham.
This got a little messy, but the staff handled it as best as they could, I'm sure. The confusion came about when she started asking who was in the cancellation line, who was in the lottery line, and who planned on doing both. Of course, everyone (especially those of us in the front) wanted to try for both, because why not? So she kept us all in one line, until someone said he was just planning on trying cancellation, so she said she would move those only trying cancellation line back to the other side of the theater. Of course, those of us who had waited overnight were concerned. We weren't sure if this would mean that those who showed up after us would end up being first in the cancellation line, because that didn't seem fair. After a lot of talking, she told us that those with partners in line could divide and conquer. One person could get in the cancellation line on the left of the theatre while the other would get in the lottery line, and they could trade places (ultimately both people would end up being back in the cancellation line). However, because I was by myself (my friend had work in the morning and couldn't join me until 1pm), I wasn't allowed to put my name in the lottery. If I did, I would've lost my place in the cancellation line. I didn't like it, but I was not about to lose my place in the cancellation line to try a lottery that I most likely would not have won, so I went over to the cancellation line. A little irritating and I'm not a fan of the new cancellation line rules, but they are what they are.
Ham4Ham happens, which was super cool. We saw Patti Lupone, as I'm sure you all know by now, and the street clears up pretty quickly afterwards. I was impressed at how smoothly everything went despite the dense crowds. We continue to wait, but by 1:50pm, there were still no tickets handed out--not even premium tickets, which I thought was surprising, given all that I've read. The two people in front of me were called in to the box office at 1:58 (according to my nervous texts to a friend). My friend and I were called in at 1:59 or so. Nerve-wracking, I tell you. Luckily the show didn't actually start right at 2, so we had time to pay, get seated, and still had some time to chat with the two people who were in line in front of me, cuz we ended up sitting in the same row (Row G, center orchestra). The two behind me also got in, standing room, but they were the last two in. So there were 6 tickets total: 4 orchestra seats and 2 SRO.
The rest is history. The show was wonderful, of course. Definitely was a crazy experience, but I made some great friends and have an awesome story to tell. I waited a total of 18 hours, but honestly, it didn't feel like too bad of a wait because I had fun with my line buddies. Definitely worth it(:

Those stars don't have to buy tickets...they get house seats for free. However, Rosie might have had to buy the tickets because she's used up her fair share of house tickets in the past...they probably cut her off after the 10th time...lol. The rest are photos taken as fans then try and make it look like they bought tickets for them.

Yeah, really! The idea that "celebrities" are hiring line sitters rather than having one of their staff call the producers/theater what have you to arrange for house seats....!!! Those are some of the tickets sold to the cancellation line--the ones that no celebrity has called in for I imagine...(among other priorities on the house seat list and I'm sure there are a few in addition to celebs/and other VIPs).
I'm currently 9th in the cancellation line and only need one ticket. Odds are looking decent (I'm 4th for the evening show, i think). I'm going only for the 8pm show today. I've told those behind me that I'll most likely get two tickets. Would anyone like to be my second person? Since I've been here since midnight and my total wait time will be 19 hours, you'll have to sort of pay for my time (but not at a line sitter rate and I'm someone who actually cares about theater and has seen almost every other show in the 2015-2016 season).
If anyone is interested, here are the stipulations: -you pay for my ticket -you buy me a souvenir program at the theater -you give me $25 so I can buy "Hamilton: the Revolution" from Amazon -You arrive at the theater by 6pm -If we get to 7:30pm and a single ticket is available, I will take it for myself (but I'll pay for it, you won't owe me anything since you'd already be disappointed enough without having to owe someone money for nothing). -If you're okay with premium tickets, you have to join me in line early enough to be there when they are offered (although they're so much more expensive and I'm close enough to the front of the line that it would probably be okay to gamble and wait for the $177 tickets). -If we end up doing premium, you won't need to buy me the program or give me the $25 (I'd feel bad enough taking a ticket worth that much money). -If we somehow end up with one house seat and one standing room, I will get the house seat.
First person to send me a PM gets the spot. Include your phone number and email address in the PM. The second person in line I'll reply to also to be the alternate. If the first person does not show up by 6pm, I'll let you know.

Will be in NYC from July 5 - 13 and looking for someone to line up for 2-3 tickets in any of those dates except weekend.
Compensation:
- Will pay for your standard Ticket/s.
- Give you $120 per ticket for you to buy any Hamilton paraphernalia you may want to buy or spend anywhere.
So if you and your friends are planning to line up for more than 20 hours (to make the chances of getting tickets higher) and watch on those dates, let me treat you to your tickets plus add in extra. PM me if interested.
I would have gone the line sitter way but it'll be better to have someone who really haven't seen the show have a chance of seeing it for free. No disrespect for those using line sitters as to each is own.

You got there at midnight and you're ninth? Any idea when the people ahead of you got there?

This is so ingenious! I hope others follow suit in the days to come.
If only my niece's wedding wasn't today...I would be SO there!

It's a bit crazy today in the line. I think the first two or three are line sitters. The first real person in line arrived around 6pm. Then a slow trickle until I got here at midnight. There are at least 20 people in line now.
I'm 5th in line for the evening show. I wonder if the possible line sitters will buy premium. If so, I'd be 2nd or 3rd in line.

I'm trying for a Saturday in two weeks and was thinking of showing up at midnight. Seems like that might work okay, at least now.
Yesterday some people were saying that the cancellation line was back to being one line (as opposed to different lines for different days)? Is that still true? Or is it back to two lines? Anyone in line for Saturday know if there are different lines for the matinee vs. evening again?

The employee who took a pic of the line said it is just one line. He didn't seem aware of any time in the past when the line was split and said it would create a mess if done that way.
