"It means nothing to come and sit in a theater night after night and immerse yourself in fantasy, only then to walk out the door and be unchanged in reality. This show will live on in our hearts. But where it truly must survive is in our actions, our compassion and our generousity of spirit towards one another." - Adam Pascal on the closing of RENT
NINE I saw a great production recently but still left thinking...ehhhh
SPRING AWAKENING Whenever someone asks me about the show, I tell them to buy the CD and enjoy it. Watching it did nothing for me.
CATS Saw it on tour and on Broadway and regionally. Never cared for any of the productions.
SPAMALOT Some fun bits but to me it felt like a REALLY expensive Forbidden Broadway, but not nearly as funny or immediate.
A WONDERFUL LIFE Horrible score, way too long of a book. My suggestion: rent and enjoy the movie. Not sure if this show was or will ever be "highly acclaimed," but lots of theatres produce it around the holidays.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

POTO (I actually fell asleep for a couple seconds,) Les Miserables. (Can't even get through the cast recording.) Spring Awakening. (Still trying to figure out how they won the Tony for lyrics that are literally "Blah Blah Blah.") Updated On: 10/27/07 at 02:37 PM
You see, obsessions are very personal things, they come from deep inside us, where we are open and vulnerable, which is why I consider them sacred, not to be belittled....PalJoey
I haven't not liked any musical I've seen. Something has always saved it for me. But Phantom is definetly at the bottom of my list.
I saw it on tour. The girl who played Meg had an OBNOXIOUS voice. Raoul did this waddle/walk thing, and could not act. Our Phantom was good. Really insane. Except he was really to insane fo me a the beginning. I didn't get a chance to love him and then hate him. And our Christine was absolutely AMAZING! Loved every minute she was on stage.
Neeless to say, I did not go see it on Broadway that summer.

West Side Story- I just don't like it. The Sound of Music- I used to like it until my little sister watched the movie every single day and corrupted it for me. Wicked- I don't know if it really fits here, because I liked it, but I just don't get all they hype. Really, people. It's not THAT good.
