Can we really not tell this is an illustration?
We can tell it's an illustration ... and a really bad one too.
Comments here say otherwise. I think it’s great!

Reminds me of when they first dropped Legally Blonde art. Looked like LBB, but was a little open to interpretation.

not sure why an illustration would require a full glam team, gowns, wigs, nails and a…smoke bomb pyrotechnician, but maybe I’m just too dense to actually look into it to find out what it actually is before I comment. I dunno.
It’s a heavily altered photoshoot and it’s the same photographer as did Sweeney Todd. Save your snark.
I like it.
Yes, this is not an illustration, guys. It’s a heavily edited photograph, as OhHiii says. Franz Szony is a digital artist who uses elaborately staged photographs as a base to further manipulate to create often surreal works.
I think it looks great.
Correct, apologies. My poorly articulated point was this was purposely designed in this style (a la the original movie poster).

I’m not saying I hate it, just something wasn’t landing for me and it’s honestly just the size of Megan’s head. I LOVE the images they have of the two of them and Michelle and Chris Seiber in the video ad they’re running on Instagram

Did anyone go to the box office opening today?
Also, Megan Hilty looks stunning in these new cast portraits: https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Photos-DEATH-BECOMES-HER-Cast-Character-Portraits-20240910

I did. Got there 25 minutes before and there was around 70 people ahead of me. They were giving out free liquid death the entire wait. The line took a long time to get through, but I was able to get tickets for the first preview. There was a 4 ticket limit that I don't think was mentioned anywhere in the promotion.
I love all the promo photos for this, every last one. I have yet to see any kind of discount code so does anyone know if this is selling incredibly well?

Waited 2 hours. There was only one box office person for a long time. Took forever. Also false advertising! Every ticket was supposed to be 50% off from first preview until November 7th. But it was only for “selected” seats only. Premium was not included. Also thought they were going to give away pins/lapels, but that didn’t happen. So not a good experience.
I don’t see the word “every” on any of the press announcements or their Instagram post about it. They all say tickets will be available 50% while supplies last - some articles specify all preview performances, but not all tickets. They also said you may* get a pin, which a friend of mine did, so maybe you just weren’t randomly chosen. Not sure why non-Premium seats at 50% is a bad experience for you, but to each their own.
How much did you spend? Wouldn’t it have been cheaper to go to tkts or wait for TDF? This show is obviously destined for discount tickets.

A friend grabbed us tickets this morning! We got great seats in the Orchestra for N for $90!
He did get a pin as well!
Just stopped by the box office and they were still selling the 50% off tickets! Grabbed a pair front mezz center for $90 each.

Just bought great seat for $90......
Looks like they are running a sale through Today Tix with up to $40 off of regular prices on Rear Orchestra and Mezzanine seating for dates up to November 27.
I noticed that the "box" seats or whatever they're called on the sides, are not onsale for any performance. Anyone know if you can pick up in person, or are they being held for rush? Sat there for Sweeney and really liked the regular chairs.

Based on the set from the Chicago run, would anyone recommend orchestra left or right, or are they the same? (I know the set could be different but since previews haven't started it's all we have to go on.)

The show in Chicago had two palm tree like awnings that adorned the sides of the proscenium. If they were to expand the shows false proscenium it’s possible those pieces will cover the boxes, a la the windmill and elephant at Moulin Rouge.
As far as views would go, I’d recommend sitting on the left side of the house otherwise your view of stair set piece might be blocked.

Just bought my tickets close to the stage, so excited! Does anyone know if the stage is way too high?

All the photos on A View From Seat and Seatplan made it look like the stage is very high, so I went with a few rows back on the side. I'm guessing that's why the first row isn't for sale--because they're using it for lottery since it's below the stage.
