If a theatre has not been assigned - why go ahead with the sales start on Sept 14? They could have just postponed the sales date until a theatre has been sorted out as there is still a year to go before previews. Also, they actually advanced the sales date by a day, from what was an originally-announced date of Sept 15? Hmm..

I'm assuming that it means we're not getting a theatre announcement. We'll have to take "best available," we'll get seat numbers which may or may not change, and the tickets will be mailed/emailed when the theatre is finalized.
I just don't understand why they'd rush to put tickets on sale if they haven't finalised the theatre? There is no hurry.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

It doesn't make sense to do it this way. And is it necessary to do it this way, when there is so much time to go? There will be some hesitation from prospective buyers to go ahead with this arrangement, especially those paying for choice seats. I could understand that being done for Group Sales because they need to fit in the requirements with availability for a large group.
They earn that much more in interest if they sell early?
I alwaysalwaysalways get aisle seats, so if there's no way to guarantee that in the morning, I guess I'll just wait until they have their crap together and hope for the best.
Just remembering you've had an "and"
When you're back to "or"
Makes the "or" mean more than it did before
I want to know which theater will be home to "The Music Man," and then I want to choose my specific seat in that theater. If I can't do that tomorrow, then I will just wait until I can. As much as I want to see this show, I'm not willing to spend big bucks on the unknown.

But is the prevailing opportunity income ( from interest income) that much more, if this move discourages many buyers from buying while they have not sorted out their problem or negotiations? It can only create ill feelings and not goodwill.

"
It means I will wait to buy my ticket when they know what theater. They did this with the onstage seating for Comet so I decided to buy Orch instead. Then a few months later when they had the stage configuration they sent a mailer with a heavy discount for the stage seats. I called Telecharge and was able to switch my Orch seats for stage and saved $60 a ticket.

This has me curious. When I purchased my West Side Story ticket at the box office a few weeks ago, the box office staff asked me for my phone number and email address “in case of any seating or theater changes.” I can’t recall that ever happening to me before when making a purchase in person at the box office so I do have to wonder If it has been planned all along for The Music Man to take the Broadway and move West Side elsewhere. I suppose it is also possible that they wanted to put WSS on sale, see how it would sell at the Broadway, and then reassess when it was time to put MM on sale.
I know the West Side marquee is already up, but we have seen stranger things happen around here. If Rudin is producing both shows, I’d say there is at least a small chance of this happening... but really, who knows.
I translate this as the Winter Garden is set but out of consideration for Beetlejuice the Shuberts don't want the announcement. I'd expect the layout on Telecharge to be the Winter Garden.

The operative phrase in the Telecharge info on The Music Man --
"While we do not anticipate any changes,"
is reassuring that there is a theatre already set but that announcements cannot be made at this point. I agree with you!

No need to read anything into that statement- I’ve gotten the same a few times before, including at Broadway Theatre. I’ve also been asked for an email and/or phone without any comments. It’s actually nice b/c then I’ll get an email reminder for the show.
Does it say it will be “Best Available” or just that they will send tickets when the theatre is announced? In other words, is it possible we will have a (correct) seating map to choose from tomorrow (presumably the WG) without an official announcement?

It's possible, of course, but wouldn't having the Winter Garden's seating chart to choose from be the same thing as announcing Beetlejuice's closing? In my opinion, it would be.

Maybe in these circles, but the average ticket buyer isn't going to have a clue.
I wonder kind of information the cast of Beetljuice is being told. I know they are most always the last people to know before the public, but if you start seeing the theatre of your show being used to sell tickets for another, you’ve got to start questioning it. I wonder if we can start seeing any turnover at the winter garden soon.

Good detective work - But the Winter garden has 4 separate Mezzanine sections, and that Music Man chart only has 3."
Yes, but the right mezzanine section is designated "far side," and the other 2 are designated "center," so they've left out the far left. Also, it's the same number of rows. I think that's pretty clear, no?
Look at this: https://www.telecharge.com/seatingchart.aspx?cityName=Broadway&productId=12708&productType=1&stop_mobi=YES The orchestra doesn’t even match up with that seating chart, it’s very different

That is not at all the seating chart of the Winter Garden.
In fact, I don’t recognize that theater at all. I think that’s actually a fake/generic map that will let people pick general locations, before assigning official seats later.
Edit: I think it’s the Broadway theater orchestra section, and then the front mezzanine?
