You can go to the bathroom just make sure you tell the people behind you and maybe ask them to watch your stuff. That's what I always say as a nice way of telling them I'm going to the bathroom. That is one of the only acceptable reasons to leave the line. That said, I wouldn't go to the bathroom until the park opens and the line is ushered into the park as it is a bit of a free for all on Central Park West and no guarantee your spot would be held and the rules would be enforced.
Any attire goes. Waiting in line, dress very comfortably. No need to dress up at all. For the show, if you have the ability to change, you may want to dress up a bit but people come in everything. Some people who probably are sponsors and are coming from work tend to be dressed nicely while others come in shorts and a tee shirt. I usually tend to dress quite casually (often what I wore in line) since I live in Jersey and can't usually change clothes and I've never felt underdressed

Is the borough distribution something they do throughout the entire run? I don't see any August dates listed on the site. I'm also pretty sure I'm hiring one of those craigslist line sitters. Anything I should be on the look out for?
I'm very sorry for you.

I hate to do it, but I'm flying in on Saturday morning, so I wouldn't be able to make the line on my own, and I'm flying out Sunday night (8/12), when there's not even a performance. The problem is going to exist whether I'm there or not, and this show is the sole reason I'm making the trip, so I really want to be guaranteed a seat.
I was even willing to "donate" to the Public and pay $175 for both tickets, but when I called them, they said I HAD to pick 3 dates, since I can't be guaranteed my first choice. So I'm not going to spend $350 to maybe get tickets to a performance I can't attend. :-/

A question if anyone knows the answer. Each person can get 2 tickets. if 2 people show up to get 4 seats, can they request the 4 seats to be together?
Yes, they try to honor 4 together but it's not 100% guaranteed. Any more than that and I've heard it work but 4 is almost always doable.
Yes, they probably will be able to get four seats together.

Broadwaydevil thank for the information. I hope I have cool people around me in line since I'm going to be there alone. I am really super stoked to see the show though!
No problem. Good luck. A couple of times I've been lucky and once actually had dinner with a couple of people I met on the line. Definitely made the wait fly by. If not, just bring something to do - books, newspapers, magazines, ipod, and most definitely a pillow/blanket!
I'm going to be in NY late in the run and I want to try to see it. the day I am planning to see it is about the Sunday before the final show. do you think it will be harder to get tickets as it gets closer to closing?

Getting to the park early in the morning with friends and a blanket are all part of the fun if you ask me. Ordering food and having it delivered to you. Being with your friends. We rush around too much everyday - take this as a fun break to enjoy life, the park, and your friends. Now I am just praying for sunshine on the weekend so I can make this happen!
Going tomorrow. Does anyone think getting there between 3-4am is too late already? I know people have been there late the night before, but if I can avoid that, I will.
That's how I feel, Brian.
JBroadway - yes. That is also after press opening. It will be just about impossible. You will likely need to camp out.
Marianne2 - I haven't been in a week but from what I've heard that should be ok. I had friends get there yesterday at 4 and they were easily safe.
Im planning to go August 15th which is a Wednesday, and if I had it my way, I would camp out but, the people Im going with refuse to do so, Im wondering what time you all recommend us getting in line. It may be hard to tell now because no press has been released but just to get input would be great!

I arrived on the standby line 7/31 at around 6:00 and was not even close to get a ticket. It looked like if I had gotten there at 5 I may have gotten one.
How many tickets do they actually give away at the main ticket line? and like, about how many people have to be in front of me before I know that I actually won't be getting a ticket? I was originally planning to get there at about 3am, but if it's late in the run, it sounds like 3am is too late. I just don't want to have to 10+ hours and not get a ticket.

I got in line around 3:30am yesterday and my friend and I were 5th and 6th in line. No one else showed up until 4:30 but then it was a steady stream of people showing up until they let us in.
Hi! When you win the virtual lottery, do they tell you what seats you won on the website, or do you have to go there and find out once you get there?
You don't know your location until you pick up the tickets at the Delacorte. By the way, the tickets are printed with your name, so I guess that means it doesn't matter if you get there earlier or later, as long as you're within the time frame you're given.
where are the virtual lotto seats usually placed?
If you have won the lotto- where were your seats?
The lotto seats are all over the place really. I've won it twice in the past few years and they were in completely different parts of the theater.
Was there today. Got there at 3:30am because I really wanted to be sure I'd get in. Getting there at 6am seems like it would have been sufficient today though. Fingers crossed for no thunderstorms that will cancel it.
