Was listening this album last night, as well as the 'intro track' where he explained that Sondheim himself made this suggestion -- Billy Porter as the Witch would be BRILLIANT!!!!
For a show that’s going to continually switch up casting for shorter amounts of time, I hope they don’t box themselves in with only looking for replacements of a certain race for a role, no matter which it is.

Careful the things you say, SA-WEETIE. :) If they're looking to keep selling tickets I wish they'd bring in Hannah Waddingham. This is the best Last Midnight I've ever seen.
The Broadway tea guy on Tiktok mentioned Sherie and Norbert, but I don't know reliable that is.
Edit: If they're interested in keeping up the couples trend and Suffs doesn't come to Broadway, why not bring in Stephen Pasquale and give Pippa a shot at the Baker's Wife? :)
I just grabbed a pair using Broadway Week 2-1 offer. I saw it at Encores but in the rafters as I always buy the cheapest seats for that. I am on a really tight budget so either I do rush , standing room or miss a lot ( I generally avoid lotteries especially ones that require you to use a social media account which I don't have) I am very excited by the new casting. I am sorriest about not seeing Julia Lester again ( never heard of her before this). Kind of glad I will see Andy Karl for when I have seats since I saw Gavin Creel but I am especially excited that Milky White will still be the same ( my favorite). Even at $90 it was a stretch for my budget ( back of Orchestra) but have to splurge once in a while

If only Carole Shelley were still with us, would be a cute Wicked reunion. Love the idea of Sherie though.

WHAT WHAT WHAT???? Care to elaborate, you’ve been incredibly on target so would love to hear more!
Menzel now seems more Witch than Baker’s Wife but it’s nice to see the characters’ ages stretch upward. Many of these people have not done much Sondheim, certainly not on Broadway, and this is a glorious opportunity for them and us.

Hopefully this casting will happen and as a bonus have Norbert overlap a few weeks with Idina.

OH MY GOD!!! DAAAAAMN!!!! Make that two of us who that's the best "Last Midnight" we've ever seen! I want her to be the Witch so bad now!
I bought premium tickets for the Sept. 17th show. I guess I'm seeing Patina and Stephanie and Sebastian. Hope all are very good.

I do wonder what pool of top-tier Broadway stars are they pulling from, because let's face it, once you reach a certain level, you start to run out of diversity. Which is more about Broadway casting itself, but still..
Anyway...how are box seats for this show? Thinking of going in September, but I don't think I've ever seen a show from the mezzanine boxes.

How is Sutton Ross always this confidently and proudly WRONG about everything? Its almost impressive.
After Patina Miller won her Tony in 2013, she "sprinted" from Broadway to make bank doing TV for 8 yrs before returning to ITW. But please go on about how Sara Ramirez is different and "shouldnt be in anything like this, ever."
