While we're waiting for more crumbs from the film promotion, why don't we enjoy a little story.
Once upon a time, in a far off land... called Queens...
Thanks HorseTears. That was adorable.
CHRIS PINE is also doing a more English accent from what i hear...

Something that surprises me about the official website is that they do not have Jack as one of the character on the home page. Daniel Huttlestone may not be a huge star yet, but he did appear in a successful movie musical a few years ago. Jack is also a very important character to the story. Lilla Crawford and Mackenzie Mauzy characters are indeed improtant to the story, but they are practically unknowns to the film industry.

Hello, excuse me, is here please anybody who knows how to contact Walt Disney Pictures/Studio? I am student and starting actor/singer in a musical theatre from Czech Republic (Prague). Now I write my final thesis about Stephen Sondheim. A part of one chapter (ITW) will be about the movie version...
I really need watch the movie (and want, I love this musical) and would like to ask about some things, get some informations and materials. BUT...
1) A woman who work in PR of our Czech distributor isn't comunicative, everything is problem for her...
2) They said that Czech premiére of this movie will be 8th January. Ok...But yesterday they changed it and new date for Czech Republic will be end of March/start of April!!!!
Thank you. J.
Just from experience of trying to do something like that in the past (I did a paper on puppetry and contemporary examples: the Muppets, duh) and wanted to use information from the films and they always redirected me back to press releases, official photos (most of which were already released at that time), and the official website.
We can be certain that the soundtrack preview tracks will be available to the U.S. and more featurettes (maybe clips) will arrive during Thanksgiving week.

"Daniel Huttlestone sounds great for Jack and Tracy Ullman sounds perfect although I still wish they had casted Imelda Staunton. "
*cast...not "casted"
"And last and certainly least... Johnny Depp. Who proves to me that the only role that he can play is a wacky version of himself."
Not quite sure how you got this from the sample...I found nothing wrong with his song sample. And, just so you know...he is not playing a "wacky Johnny Depp"...he is playing The Wolf. There is a difference. What I got from the sample was Johnny Depp playing The Wolf with a very interesting (and nice) orchestration playing in the background.
I just find Johnny Depp completely uninteresting.
The orchestrations do sound wonderful though,
and thanks for correcting my grammatical error... I guess. I think this film could be really amazing. I hope it will be.

Depp almost always seems plays a wacky version of himself. There is very little variation in his acting choices. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. As for how well Depp playing wacky Depp will work for this film... we'll have to wait and see.
On a side note, you really need to get off that high horse that you keep climbing up on. You are too new for the self righteousness to be setting in already.
If anyone has the soundtrack I would love if they'd pass it along to me

I don't think anyone has access to the full soundtrack yet, just the preview clips.
Depp looks like he is playing the same character he always plays - a creepy version of himself. He also sounds so flat in the recording. I hope he proves me wrong. I'm still shaking my head on that costume though.

I have to agree with this. Your comments come off so snide and rude these days over some dumb movie.

Likewise if anyone has the previews I would love to listen again. I have pre-ordered the deluxe though it's sounding fabulous from the small clips!

There was a PLaybill article on the movie, and some new info was revealed...
https://playbill.com/news/article/cut-songs-plot-changes-and-more-rob-marshall-and-james-lapine-on-bringing-moments-in-the-woods-to-the-big-screen-335388/print
NEW INFO:
-Marshall gives a solid reason for cutting Rapunzel's death: "I always got a little nervous that her death" (she is trampled by Jack's Giant) "was treated in some ways as a joke," says Marshall. "Our film does not have a cartoon sensibility. I really wanted to make sure that the relationship with Rapunzel was real and you felt the loss, and there is a loss."
-The Baker does the narration (not new), but the film opens with a backstory as to why the Witch is wicked (which I personally can't wait for!)
-Lapine and Sondheim actually wanted the most changes...Marshall was the purist.
Thoughts?

lol what a liar. Marshall had no say in cutting Rapunzel's death. It was all Disney. And if he was really all that concerned with Rapunzel then why is she hilariously laying in a footprint in the cover art? Marshall seems like a smart guy, you would think he could come up with a better lie than that.

I will say...I do think Rapunzel's death is portrayed too comically sometimes.
I personally, have no problem with the cut. Apparently, according to those who've seen the film...it did not drastically change the dark quality of the film.

The original production and the revival production played the death very appropriately if you ask me. There was no hinted joke. The audience can clearly tell that Rapunzel's death breaks the Witch.

^I wasn't necessarily talking about those specific productions, but others (I agree those productions did an excellent job):
-When the show was still in previews, I think Cinderella said, "Oh, this dress is ruined!" when Rapunzel's blood was splattered on stage (this line was cut)
-And other production have portrayed the death somewhat comically even if it does break the Witch
Though I would have preferred her original ending...I have no problem with the new one as long as Meryl Streep and Mackenzie Mauzy deliver acting-wise...I think we should all be pretty pleased for the most part.

"The Backstory" wasn't in the last screening...was it?
I wonder how far back into what makes The Witch so intense...will they just do what we already know and play out the incident when her beans were stolen, or will we learn about the Witch and her mother?
Also, regarding the samples...I cant post a link, but there are some floating around on SoundCloud (and Psst...check the film's IMDB board).

What specific productions are you talking about?
Now the fun starts-- industry screenings start on Thanksgiving Day here on the left coast. We've reserved our seats for the Friday 11-28 7pm screening on the Disney lot. Can't wait. We're avoiding all listens to the released soundtrack clips till then.
