Very exciting to have her back on stage! I don't even care what the heck the play is about, I'm there.
Also exciting because this firmly puts to bed the rumor of Mystic Pizza taking Studio 54.

Interesting to pick Studio 54. Seems like a good sized house for Smart to try and fill up.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Three new Broadway announcements within an hour was too much for the BWW servers to handle!

Has pricing been announced yet? Trying to figure out the budget as I really want to see this.

I'm hoping they either come out with a promo code. Full priced tkts are a little pricey for this.

Does anyone actually know what this play is about? The description on the show's website is vague at best.

From Playbill: "The work tracks a woman in rural Louisiana who's trapped in an abusive marriage who finds possible escape through writing poetry."

Terribly generic artwork for this one and tough to make a splash when previews begin in late May.
It's being described as "darkly comedic", wonder how funny it will actually be considering the subject matter.

I generally agree with you -- but if anyone can make it funny, it's Jean Smart.

I saw a reading of it last year. The subject matter is obviously serious, but the comedic moments are situational and interspersed here and there to lighten the mood a bit. I won’t comment on the quality of the play as it may or may not have changed significantly, but I can tell you that Jean will be terrific.
